I currently have two homes I go back and forth through, depending on wether school is in or not. The one I have to stay in during the school year has a 56k modem that only connects at 26K, but Everquest still ran fine on it. Loading times would be horrible and stuff, but other than that, it still ran ok even with a full zone and all the expansions. I don't know how games like Star Wars: Galaxies or Horizons would run on it, though.

My other home, where I stay most of the summer and weekends during the school year, as cable. Need I say more?

Studies have shown that at least half the current EQ crowd is unwilling to abandon their existing characters in favor of playing a new game due mostly to the time investment they've made. SOE would be foolish to stop supplying those subscribers with new content, which has to be pretty inexpensive compared to the fees they're raking in. EQ will die when its subscription base falls below the point at which it's no longer economically feasible to continue.
