So currently Im busy studying at school and so I had to stop playing WoW because there would be no time for me to raid. I am looking for a game that I can pick up and raid at anytime or an mmo thats not so raid dependent a end game.
Casual as in you don't play often or you play it casually a lot? Very different things.
At any rate, LOTRO is good for both types of play. City of Heroes is a great game to play if you're not playing often but if you play a lot you can quickly find yourself burned out, I think. It'll be fully launched free-to-play next week in case you've never had an account.

Sorry I meant to say i dont play often but thanks for the suggestions so far guys
Any MMO can be played casually. As far as "pick up the game and raid at any time", that might be a hard one to find. Just about any MMO I've ever played required some type of preparation for raiding.
*XP Gained at steady rate weither you are online or not.
*Raids are entirely optional and give basically the same rewards as missions.
*Lots of Missions, Eploration and Quests(Arcs) to do in game.
*Mining is very passive so you can alt tab out a lot.
*PvP Gangs can start quickly depending on which Corp you join.
Casual C0ns:
*Station interface is terrible.(being fixed soon)
*Large Fleet Battles take time to get going and Sov/Starbase Warfare is all nighter territory.
*Steep Learning Curve.
*2-3 months before you are PvP capable.
It can be very casual and very intense based on your style, but you earn the same ammount of XP(which is called SP) if you are playing 12 hours a day or not. There is no rush to rare items everyone uses cheap T2 Gear. You can focus your training on a couple of ships and be nearly on par in those ships as someone with years of SP behind them.
The Game takes a bit of reseach once you get the hang of it to be good but with a 14 day trial you should give it a go.

Lotro is good but I would also consider city of heroes, its something a bit different and raids are done any time of day puggable and are short and sharp. An uber character in city of heroes takes a length of time over some months done your way according to your schedule.

I'd suggest LotRO. Very casual-friendly in my opinion.
