So this proves the company making game is junk. I just wait for free trial then. No way I waste money on talentless screw-ups ;D
Quite big screw-up...
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure a website / email based error doesn't affect the gameplay of a game. Also, personally I don't think it's that big of a screw up. "Whoops, accidentally sent the beta email to every account on the website," wouldn't compare to "Oh hell....I just made the servers go live, didn't I?"
Anywhos, all they might've done is got peoples hopes up into getting into beta. But, that constitutes as an error from one individual employee, not an entire company.
I got it too. At first i was worried I missed it in my email, but then after thinking about it I knew I hadn't. Anyway, Bioware made a post on their forums saying it was an accident.
Got the same email. I was little surprised that they needed by bank account number and sort code due to a problem with my pre-order being shipped from Nigeria, but I provided it dutifully.

Haha! That email adress is a bit fishy, but I might be wrong.
I just recieved an email from SWTOR asking me to complete a survey to share my beta experiences with other testers...the problem is I'm not even in the beta...or if I am, they never told me LOL
Anybody other non-beta people get this same email?
Edit: Looks like a major slip up ... and I has a sad.
lolo same here, in fact i got 2 emails, one like you said and the other was just spam to sell me the game after my beta experience. And of course I'm not in the beta.
I wonder if it was sent out to an EA list rather than a BioWare one? Would explain how people who never signed up at the SW:TOR site got sent the mails too.
Human error, won't make me cancel my pre-order, but does make me want to put some popcorn on to watch the drama unfold!
Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
I hope the Beta people that CAN do what they ask in the email tell them to cut DOWN on all special effects. This game look like some Superhero game on LSD!
..but I bet there is no option for that....
I have never seen a human bleed gellow sparks... for example.
OOPS. So what someone screwed up and is probably pretty embarrassed about it. Kinda reminds when i was trying to play DA with some of their online features enabled, what an absolute mess. They simply aren't very good when it comes to dealing with stuff online, most of their single player games rock but DA with online features, ouch totally ruined it. once i disabled all the online stuff it was fantastic. Wasn't it funny that when they announced monthly fee's most people on Facebook had zero clue it was an online game.lol

STAR WARS: The Old Republic no-reply@bioware.swtor.com
And then this Beta email from:
The Old Republic Community swtor@email.swtor.com
Hmmm... Anon is it you?
I received one too earlier, except I didn't even have a ToR site account o.o
