Helbreath USA - An Unmatched MMORPG

Dear Fellow MMORPG Players - Helbreath USA ( www.helbreathusa.com )

(I think I am allowed to do this here, please don't punish me if I'm not, I didn't know :|)

Helbreath USA is only lacking one thing, steady numbers. The gameplay is still excellent, the PVP is unscripted, endlessly exciting and action packed and there is never a dull moment. The game revolves around two towns, Aresden and Elvine who have come to the top of an epic war and fight for their gods to put down the other side.

It has a quality that many of the more modern MMORPG's do not, it doesn't exhibit "the carebear factor" (as I have seen  mentioned in other threads). Although new players are looked after by their town they are not protected by programming as such and everyone must battle to retain their place in the game. It keeps you on edge that you and your party of warriors and mages may be ambushed anytime.

The game also doesn't rely on fixed character classes and abilities. Your abilities are based on the combination of stats you choose out of Strength, Intelligence, Magic, Charisma, Dexterity and Vitality. Each of these combinations will affect your gameplay in a subtle way, and rarely are any two characters the same.

HelbreathUSA supports group and guild combat, and also team hunts to defeat Abaddon, the god of the UnderWorld. Combat is unscripted and not based on the "attack queue" system that many other MMORPG's have (WOW, Everquest I and II).

It is hard to explain how well this game is programmed. I would challenge anyone not to enjoy the game during the 5 day free trial offered. If you are interested please go to www.helbreathusa.com and check out the screens, meet the community and try the 5 day trial and come back and tell me what you think.

It is one of few timeless MMORPG's, that can withstand the ages and excite you every day. One where you can have an influence on your fellow players and where there is only one server so what you do matters to everyone. Here are a couple of screens, thank you so much for reading and I hope to see you there.

Yours,

Sam. (Former Gamemaster of Helbreath USA).

Yes, this game doesn't need to rely on top graphics, it has the best pvp engine going.

    That is almost certainly un-matched.

Still the only game I play at the moment.

This game is mass fun, especialy when you like PvP, graphics aren't perfect, but better than RS! The whole system is based on PvP, there are still other skills like, mining fishing, alchemy, manufacturing etc. I'm playing this game 2 years now, still not bored... I certainly recomment this game!

    quote from that topic:
    Greetings to you all,

I have created a forum advert to try and attract new players into the game. Some of it may be a tad embelished but I've tried my best to make HB sound great so they come and give it a go. Please if you could make an account quickly and post some support for HB in the thread that would do me a world of good.

Thanks guys, please do this for me.

Just a quick comment, about how much you enjoy the pvp. Avoid the negatives please

    Blablabla, seems advertising to me..

The Warc ultimately the purpose of this thread is to make players more aware of the good sides of the MMORPG, and to give the 5 day free trial a go. I did ask for support on the official forums as I believe personally it is a great MMORPG. I asked for no negatives as 1.) This is supposed to attract players, you show your best side and 2.) Like every MMORPG we have our small share of disgruntled people and I don't want them ruining your outlook and experience should you decide to give the MMORPG a shot.

My embelishments aren't very large, give the MMORPG a shot and you won't be disappointed. I'm just trying to get an influx of new players.

Personally I don't have sympathy for Companies that push their game with such lame tactics.
    We aren't stupid, 3 positive posts, 3 new accounts...............C'mon

I am not even bothered about the fact that you tried to hide the negative aspects of the game.
But I don't like to be taken for a ride.

Next time be more honest, people will be more interested in trying the game (We understand that small companies don't have the budget for the advertisement, so we might accept this kind of collateral promotions)

  • Mav-HBMav-HB Member Posts: 3

I was being totally honest, HB is my game, if you don't believe feel free to check my forum history at the Helbreath forum, my Alias there is Maverik.

The down sides are a small community, but it can improve, it's older style graphics (D2 style) It's been hit with a few idiots but they are being dealt with.

If your a Eq, wow sort of player then honestly the game probably wont be for you, but if your one of the many Diablo 2 fans, then this game will strike your fancy.

    Honest enough for you?

This game is indeed one of the best mmorpgs out there. The bad thing is really the low numbers...but really the staff of HB USA shouldn't be expecting a little advertising to increase the number of players, i would have payed for this game a long time ago but i'm not going to pay to play with only 100 other players. The game won't be able to survive very long at the state it's in, i think the only way it can survive now is do the same thing Dragon Raja is doing. Dragon Raja didn't have very much people so they went free to play with a cash shop where you can buy premium items. I also believe that you have to pay a small amount of money to make an account, this is of course a one time fee, all other fees are optional.

Helbreath used to be fun. But John Ewan is completely incompetent as head GM and he has let the game die. You all should let go and admit it's gone. The lack of drop rate and lack of people playing makes it no fun 90% of the time. Definitely not worth $10/month.

Used do play helbreath usa game has its challanges , great pvp, alot to do. But my sugestion would be : Its money waste do pay for hbusa (Ient) once u got problems they wont help you out, its been proven alot (i got smoked myself) community isnt that great alot scammers, whiners. This game is no different, really, than old UO was.
    Honestly speaking here:
I'd rather go play UO on a player run shard for free than pay for HB.

Actually: Correction... old UO is better :)

Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

This is the BEST PvP game eveveveevevevr :D !!

I've played this game since it started , always stuff to hunt , ALWAYS a fight between the 2 towns going on .

There is a areas for lower level players to lvl up and places for higher level players :)

Plenty of weapons and you get to choose what kinda of character you wish to make , not like other games where you are set to go into a certain class and only your items determin how good your character is from another.

Anyway overall best game ever :D

    Get in there ;) !image

What does the USA stand for in the name? Abbreviation of game expansion or something?

It means that it is the USA server...

  • EldonEldon Member Posts: 8

The man is right, old UO is pretty good (Metropolis anyone? :P)

By the way I'm not staff on HBUSA. I'm merely a player that knows what the game needs to survive. I know the problems it has, but also the features it has that make it the game it is. The USA part is just the USA 'franchise' of the game. This has a lot of negative development aspects as the company that owns HBUSA is still under the thumb of a higher company as far as executive decisions are concerned.

However putting this all aside, I've been playing 3-4 years and still enjoying every day. The good points I outlined are real, give it a go, see what you think - and send me a mail. If it's not for you that's fine but the five day trial is pretty cool if you give it your all.

    Helbreath-Usa

    Positive aspects of the game:

This is among the most challenging mmorpg's ive ever tryed. It takes time and effort to reach the maximum lvl. Good items are hard to get and it takes a good deal of luck and trading skills to get the items you want.

The freedom in player vs player scenarios is amazing. You practicly have the freedom to kill everything and everyone.

The game is very focused on coorperative hunting, player vs player and player vs monsters.

You wont get far in this game alone. And many of the higher lvl monsters can't be killed unless you work together with other players of the game.

There is a high variation of different items with different stats in the game. All good items are found from monsters in the game. And it is a thrill when you come across a nice item.

All in all the gameplay is exellent in this game.

    Negative aspects of the game:

It is sad to see a game with this potential is being moderated so poorly.

The game was developed by a Korean software company named " SiemenTech "

Stech had their servers hacked, an the source-codes of the game was distributed, so there is 100's of illegal servers in competition with the legal HB servers. A licence to run the game from USA was bought by an American company named " Ientertainment "

Ient hired a profesional gamemaster to moderate the game. Sadly this gamemaster didnt have the experience one could expect. And due to his inconsistent actions and poor insight on the game. many players have sought other adventures in other games.

Bugs in the game are hardly ever fixed. ( this requires assistence and aproval from Stech in korea )

Drop rate on items is pretty low due to the low amount of players currently on the server. And Ient are not allowed to moderate/tweek the droprate % due to their contract with Stech.

The economy in the game is horrible, gold pieces should have been the currency. But you wont be able to purchase any special weapons or armors from other players with gold. Because it is simply not worth anything. Its a trade item for an item economy that is dominating Helbreath-usa.

Poor custumor service. If you need assistence from an Ient official you can easily expect to wait for weeks before you get an answer. And that should not be the case if you pay a monthly amount of 9.99$

The playerbase of HBusa is pretty imature. A lot of players will talk a faul languege and act like jerks. This is another consenquence of the inconsistent moderation by GM1 ( gamemaster ) of HBusa.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont suport propaganda in any form. I was encouraged to go write a few positive lines about the game to attract more custumors. But to write that everything is a blast would be pure manipulation of new players that havent tryed the game. And i wont suport such an act even though it might have improved the game i am fond of.

With that said i think people who seek a real challenge in mmorpg's should go try Helbreath-usa. Cause what the game lacks in moderation and support is being countered by a thrilling gameplay. And who knows maybe someday we will have decent moderation and suport also.

....When someone posts about a game there is a (very) mininal chance that a brand new account with their very first post praises the same game (and from 3 accounts, that doesnt happen). My paranoid hunch its the same person making new accounts (or some people decided to hype the game here).

Anyway, I looked into Hellbreath some time ago when it was open beta (in asia?), grind fest that reminds of Diablo2 but with even worse community. The official boards at that time where packed with complaints & no official answer anywhere except for some minor faq (trade scamming & cheats).

Could have changed until now but there is a reason to why some mmorpg:s die/remain very small, also official forums dont seem to have too many happy posters.

  • EldonEldon Member Posts: 8

Thanks for posting a fair critique of Helbreath. By the way those new accounts are all different people, they are just a result of me asking on the official Helbreath forums for assistance with this thread and they tried. Some of the community (generally the loud part) are obnoxious, callous and pretty rude. But there are a lot of people I've met that are pleasant and fun to be around.

I think the playerbase is quite dispirited in the head GameMaster as he doesn't have the experience required to moderate the game (in player opinion anyway). As you can see though the game is still far from dead and a lot of fun (this is a screen from the crusade two hours ago).

I would rate gameplay 5/5 on Helbreath but management as a 1/5. However new player GM staff are being appointed so it is a welcome step in the right direction. In the end I just wanted people to try this game, to get a good influx of nice new people.

Come and try Helbreath for yourself, free 5day accounts available!

www.helbreathusa.com   download /create new trial account FREE

Although this may not give a true idea of game and character potentials, it does give great opportunity to look around, ask questions and make a start at creating one of your very own characters.

*bonus experience is also available via website (means you score lots of extra levels to help get you started!)

I have played Helbreath USA for few years now and it would be nice to see new players get as much enjoyment from this game as I have image......so come join in the fun!

5 day trial is pointless. If they gave 14 day I might try it. But 5 isn't enough to get an honest feel for any game. Let alone an MMO.

You know the old saying..'cant please all the people, all the time..'. Same in anything, including any game. Unfortunatly for many website forums they are used as personal flamming mediums lol  Thats why I feel you got to try anything new for yourself, not rely on text.

If you were wanting more reading- Try www.hbportal.net  and www.hbphoenix.com. I found those 2 sites had more info on drops and items, however I do believe they are working on updating the official hbusa website soon.

As for compairing Helbreath to Diablo, I find Diablo is the sort of game that id play off line, wherease hb is alot more interactive. And the fact i played one for few weeks and hb for years has to say something lol I like almost everyone gave WoW a try also....but straight back to Helbreath image

Cant even compair usa server to int either, yes there is whining about 'scammers' etc but its all due to same thing...account sharing! Dont account share and you have no problems image

Now for the BIG questions...........why am i here??? lol image

Anyway, maybe I see you in game....only too happy to help and new players.

Atleast free time is offerd, a few games I wanted test out didnt offer any trial periods image

But if you really feel that way, create a new 5 day account after the 5 days has expired. I know it isnt quite what your meaning but is just an idea. image

If alot of games were to offer '1st month free', even if it required taking cc details etc but not charged untill after 1st mnth (unless canceled) if the game was truelly good, then we would be hooked and continue playing. hmmm....theres a suggestion to put to iEnt lol
