looking for a addictive mmorpg

KeilaniKeilani Member Posts: 17

Hi all

I played FLyFF for almost 4 years (v11 - v16) and love it. Now that the game & community aren't the same as before I quit before v17 update and server merge.

I am now looking for a mmorpg that is F2P, has a huge character customization (cs clothing, wide range of skills), isn't difficult to get to know how to play, active & friendly community, separated PvP arena (fighting eachother for fun like in FlyFF).

Please do not mention: Fiesta Online, Rose Online, ESO, Perfect World, Forsaken World, Luna Online, Prius Online. (More titles I don't remember o-o) as I already played them and didn't really like them.

For Iris Online I am considering coming back to that game. I did find it a nice alternative to FlyFF but didn't really get far.

So if you know some good mmorpgs (in CBT, OBT, development, already running) please post them here ^-^ It'll be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I considered playing Eden Eternal. Heck, I even DL'd it but the problem is that my laptop, which I use for gaming, refuses to start the installation (Woohoo for Vista -.-') and my Vaio sucks for games, I only use it for text/photo/ editing, and forums. :T

    Any other games? o:

Well if you want a game that plays a lot like WoW, but is pretty casual in most of its aspects, I'd look into a game called Allods Online.  It may not be what you're looking for but its worth at least giving a try and looking at it.

LOTRO wasn't really my type of games. And the fact that it didn't had an arena discouraged me. I really like to just rage in arena after my I-Have-To-Reach-My-Goal-Grinding-Mode. D<

And as it comes to Gpot games: I'm a bit sceptical about them as Gala-Net is a pro in screwing up promising mmorpg's. Reading Iris forums made me decide not to play it. And Allods Online indeed wasn't a game I'd like to stick with.  *sigh*

Any other ideas for mmo's? (I don't mind grinders, as long as I can talk with people like I used to on FlyFF during grinding)

P.S. Eden Eternal was fun but kept crashing on my laptop. o_o

P.P.S. I think I'll have to wait a long time untill a new mmorpg comes out  that'll suit me. :I

    Try this:

Again, it may not be what you're looking for, but as far as gameplay and community are concerned, it has one of the best that i've seen.  Its a little on the grindy side, but the community makes the grinding bearable, and the people that play are very newb friendly.

I'm sorry to say I have no idea.  I've heard Horizons associated with Istaria, but I just recently started playing after someone on these forums recomended it to me.

Well, i read up a little and it seems indeed that Istaria is the new name of horizons, Horizons was the game that brought us crafting and gathering like we know it now in so many games. But horizons should have been so much more, it was developed as the ultimate sandbox game.. Untill another team took over.

the gametough has some incredible scenery. Imightneed to get a free account one of these days to check it out.

Have you tried Anarchy Online ?

That game is close to the "real deal" and regulary overhelms new players because of its depht.

It will get a new grafix engine, what is in the works already for some years, what should be available anytime in this life, im sure.

yep Istaria is Horizons.  Its very stable now, and a very small tight knit community that help all newcomers.  You can enjoy the entire game as human in the free2play version.

its a very fun and addicting game, crafting is the best ive played, classes are awesome and multiclassing is unlimited.  You can literally level every single class on 1 char.

you can also play as a Dragon, but not on the f2p

  • KeilaniKeilani Member Posts: 17

Thanks for recommending Istaria but as I see from the posts it is not completely F2P. Being able to play on only 1 class in a F2P mode doesn't really catch my attention.

As for Anarchy Online: I heard about it (I mean read about it) and I didn't like the storyline and character customization.

I guess I'll just wait and see.
