49 - and ive played wow in the past but cata was a turnoff
48 and same here. Lots of "old people" play WoW. Kids just don't think to ask how old everyone is. lol But no, I no longer play WoW and much prefer games like EQ2, EVE, UO, Guild Wars, Torchlight, and poker at the casino. ha
The author apparently miscalculated where the center of the bell curve was going to land.
Looks like he pretty much hit it spot on to me
Nawp, it looks like a one-tailed curve weighted on the old end.
Which means his mode value should be higher, or there should be more subdivisions in the post-40's, or both.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
Honestly i spent a whole 30 seconds typing that list and the only thing that dertermined the numbers were: I wanted it to be smaller groups but more than 3 years in each, I wanted each group to encompass a level of life-experience (read: maturity), and I didn't want to have a category with too many or too few numbers. The <19 category surprises me, I'm 23 and started frequenting this site when I was 15. I chose 42 as a tribute to Adams, so all of you old coots should feel honored -_o
I would like to see a redo of this actually, with a wider range of options of course. Since I do know there are plenty of 42+ on here already, and it would be interesting to see some statistics on specifics.
I'm 18, so I suppose I'm one of the first in that category. But this is in no way a good representation of the websites demographic, you have a response bias and so that would invalidate any results you may get from this.
LOL, I think there should have been a few more categories past 42+....
Yeah. The poll could have at least had a "get off my lawn!" option after 42.
Well....you're welcome on my lawn - needs to be mowed anyways...but if you pee in my pool....well...I'll just claim you looked like a bear when they come to question me about the shooting !
There is dirt that is younger than me. Okay, fine, I'm 39. I've already decided to disappear on my 40th b-day to avoid the inevitable black balloons people seem to think are so hysterically funny. Haven't decided yet whether I'm coming back or not.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
I'll be 40 this month. I've been gaming forever, though I only have time to game casually these days between family, work, martial arts and other hobbies. I've been deep into computer gaming for so long that I *feel* like a bit of an expert on the subject, and I'm sure many of you older gamers are the same.
I'll be gaming for the rest of my life. My father is in his 60's and he plays EVE. You can take my TV away and I will be just fine. Take my computer and MMO, and I'll go insane!
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

The true test of this supposed bell curve I have or have not incidentally created is when school lets out *checks watch* right about now. We'll see if that 2.5% climbs. Then again kids <19 years of age tend to lie about their age up until 17 or 18.

25 nearing 26 too quickly.
I remeber when dirt was young, guess that makes my body old. I still refuse to grow up and will still be 16 when I die.
A fight where I might win or loose? That's PvP. Ganked or being ganked is not PvP.

30-35 should be devided in brackets of 1 year.
Anyway. 30 years old here.
We're a lot older than I thought we were. Judging by how often this place resembles more of a schoolyard than a retirement home, I'm a bit surprised.
