What should my interim MMORPG be - need something for 2 months?

I'm just looking for a filler until SWTOR comes out.

Here are the ones I've already used that I'm not going back to - I'm just looking for something fresh for 2 months.

Ultima Online (my original, long live UO).

Everquest (back in the day I liked it)

Asherons Call (same as EQ)

Aion (hooked for a year but burnt out now)

Rift (hooked for 3 months after Aion but burnt out)

WoW (tried for 10 minutes after Rift but burnt out)

DC Online (tried for 2 weeks until realized the world was just empty)

LOTR (crashed, cant install)

Runescape (UI not my cup of tea)

So given that whats left, ideally something that at least has a busy server and has enough character and gameplay for a solid 80-120 hours play.

Seems like you tried most of the big ones, except AoC.

Ever looked at EVE Online? It has one heck of a learning curve but it has managed to keep my attention for 3 years now. Sure I try other games, all that you listed by the way, and none can keep me interested like Eve does.

I'd consider holding out on DC Online, with the F2P conversion, the population should grow quickly.  F2p titles can get old after a while, but this is one I'm hoping can hold me over.

As mentioned you didn't list Age of Conan. Beautiful graphics and a different combat system than the normal MMO. Very interesting game in my opinion, and the community has grown since going F2P.

    Waiting for: GW2

I'm curious about EVE - hmm maybe this is the one to try out.

Ok I'll check that out too.

I'll secong Age of Conan as well. It's a very solid and nice looking game, and the combat system (if you're melee) is different enough to feel fresh. Also, if you don't feel like paying, 2 months is about the time it'll take you to level to 80 (give or take few weeks that you could try an alt), of course depending on how much you play, as most of the worse F2P restrictions happen at 80.

I've never played Eve, but from what I've read, 2 months is about what it'll take you to learn how to play.. :)

If you're interested in superheroes (since you tried DC Universe) you could also take a look at champions online and city of heroes, both went F2P recently. Haven't played either one too much, but I could spend hours with the character creation tools alone... :)

What can men do against such reckless hate?
