Ok, this game is fun, very fun, but only for a couple of weeks. I mena you can get lvl 2o in one weekend! The level instances make the free roaming expierence crap. The game is kinda short in terms of what you can do. I wanted to start a new character, bu I didn't want to do all that s*** in the beginning again. Personally I think a game should last you several months to a year. I played Warcraft III for 2 years. It was pretty much the only game I played since it was soooooo fun. A game that lasts a couple weeks is not worth buying in my opinion. I would not reccomend this game unless you're really desperate or really rich. I'm kinda wealthy myself, but I don't waste money buying a whole load of games that don't last a while.

Once again...
GW is for CASUAL players
You can't get to max level in 1 weekend. If you do then you need to get outside more.
Why are you comparing GW with WC3? they're 2 different games.
From the sounds of things you didn't even bother trying out the PvP.
You can't get to max level in one weekend if you are a human being who needs to eat and go to the bathroom. Play for a few hours a day and you should get months of play time out of it and the PvP can last indefinately depending on your guild and love of the game.
Lastly, if your wealthy you shouldnt be worried about spending 50 bucks on a game with such immense value. No online fee, top notch graphics and gameplay and PvP that takes skill.
Maybe you should take another look?
Well thats complete BS, i made a monk character from level 1 to 20 and getting to droknars it took me a month.
I have done all the missions and quests with my other character so i knew what i was doing right away.
Why don't you go back to playing World of warcraft and leave us alone now?

This game is for casual gamers and you'll be able to get to lvl 20 if you play it 15 hours a day all the time.
I've played it for over 2 months now and the guild I'm in, is totally sweet and I haven't gotten bored yet.
70% of the game content is there for AFTER you reach level 20. The point of the game is not to level up, but to actually play a game. You reach level 20 quickly so that you can gain all the pertinant skill involved with the combat system. The time in-between is used to practice your skills and learn how to combat enemies. (Trust me, you'll need it for the post-20 missions.)
And, of course, there's PvP. I understand that PvP isn't for everyone, but most MMO players coming into GW assume that PvP is a bad thing because of their negative experiences with it. (Getting hosed and losing experience/loot and so forth.) But the purpose of PvP in GW is to be a lot more like Unreal Tournament, or Starcraft. The most fun in those games comes from playing against others.
Many times players have wished for an RPG where multiplayer would result in intense combat, and games like Nox and Diablo II have shown us the potential this type of gameplay has. Now we have GW that makes this possibility a reality.
Most of the people that come with these complaints about GW are looking for the wrong game. It's time to stop the complaints and realize that GW is different for a reason, and that's a good thing. If it weren't different, then the already-stagnant game market would stagnate further. All the FPSs nowadays are more or less the same. The RTSs are pretty much alike. The MMORPGs are all generic. (And once you have one MMORPG, what's the point of buying another except for sexier graphics?) It's games like GW that keep gaming interesting.
i concur
my guild, most of us havent been playing for weeks, but recently came back togerher

the MINUTE anyone says anything negative about this game, they are accused of trolling. that is completely stupid. guild wars is a great game, but like all games, there are some things wrong with it. this is a guild wars discussion forum. there's nothing bad about talking about some of the things that could be fixed in guild wars, or to give your opinion on some things you don't like about guild wars. i'm so sick of you fanboys.
There is something wrong with talking about the problems with guild wars on THIS forum. That is because there are threads posted every single day by WoW fan boys who are lieing about the game.
I'm sick of these threads that kept getting bumped up and made when there are better threads to read and 1000 ones just like it, most of them made by people who didn't even play the game.
"I mena you can get lvl 2o in one weekend!"
Thats not lieing to you?

Get over yourself, who elected you Guild Wars thought police? This forum is for the discussion of Guild Wars period. I'm sorry that has eluded you. Fact of the matter is many people play this game and have every right to point out things about the game that they like and dont like.
Your opinion is not the only one, stop assuming only people who think like you are allowed a voice.
I like guild wars, I've been playing since the first day. I have all my character slots full and everything that I want/use unlocked (sup vigors, max item upgrades of fortitude, etc.). Once you've accomplished everything you want in the game it gets pretty boring imo. Yea there is still pvp and FoW/UW but that gets repetitive and boring once you find experienced friends and guild members that can get through everything. The pvp is awesome but it also gets boring. Going to HoH to win and get a sigil and a rare item that you dont need...and dont really want to sell because you could care less about gold is unfulfilling (keep in mind youve achieved everything you want). I like this game but for some reason I dont really feel immersed in its plot or "universe". I dont really get addicted to it as I do in other MMO's Ive played.
Basically I think it can be more in depth and detailed in many ways. I like a lot of the new things they did with the game but i still think they could have stuck to some of the traditional MMO gameplay. IMO MMORPGs should be games where you basically get to live as a character in the game's universe and sadly I dont feel that in this game. I feel like there are limits in the game and thats what makes most MMOs everlasting fun. You can explore where you want, look how you want, pvp where you want. It needs variety or at least something to play for after youve achieved what you want in the game. All I do now is pvp and when I get to HoH and open the chest....I feel let down...once again. Also guild rank is kind of a dumb award system imo. You win, you get high guild rank...big deal. I want something I can use and thats extremely rare and not easily attainable unlike sigils. I still like the game and I know I'm askin for a lot but generally I want more variety, player uniqueness and something intriguing to play for.
Oh and dont give me some lame excuse like its for casual gamers...not all of us are at your point in the game, but when youre at my point in the game (and Im sure many ppl are) you'll want the same. Plus this is my opinion and my point of view of the game, so please I dont want any noobs telling me to go back to traditional MMO's. After all this thread is for people who think the game has a problem.
