Here's a buyer beware for pre-ordering SWTOR - I had a pretty terrible experience, which might not be the norm, but is worth pointing out to anyone who is looking to pre-order.
Two bad things happened after pre-ordering:
1) My credit card was charged three times for the order. Purchases get routed through click-and-buy, which has charged my account three times for the purchase. I can't immediately get this reversed, as click and buy has limited customer support hours.
2) To add insult to injury, Bioware/EA never registered my purchase, in that I never get got a pre-order email with a confirmation code to get on line for early entry to the game.
This second issue was resolved after 20 minutes online with an EA representative, who found my order and was unable to send me my codes. He was unable to help with my payment problems, however, as he only had me down for one order, and EA doesn't have any convenient way to connect to its payment partner.
I've emailed click-and-buy, and I'll repost here after talking to them tomorrow when their Customer Service re-opens - I hope I don't have to resort to disputing charges with my bank.
Again, my experience may be exceptional, but I've never anything like this happen for any game purchase before, where I was charged three times and the company didn't even register my purchase.
And in case anyone asks, no I didn't do something stupid like repeatedly hit a pay button or something to generate multiple charges.

My experience was excellent with pre-order. I was billed correctly and got the e-mail. the next day with the code
Proud MMORPG.com member since March 2004! Make PvE GREAT Again!
No problems here as well.
I ordered two CE's the same hour that preorders went live and never had any troubles. Received my codes within minutes and had them entered into the site. No billing problems at all.
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Just realized you used Click and Buy.
This thread title should be changed, as your issues are with Click and Buy, they are the ones that mistakenly overcharged you. Not EA and not Bioware.
Your chances of having the same experience buying ANYTHING with Click and Buy were just as good. The fact that you happened to be buying SWTOR is merely a coincedence.
Good luck getting any money back from Click-and-buy. I think I actually hate them more than Paypal. How is that even possible, you ask? I don't know. I just don't know.
<childish, provocative and highly speculative banner about your favorite game goes here>
Should this thread be titled "I had a preorder problem" rather than its current one?
There is NO miracle patch.
95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.
Hope is not a stategy.

Doesn't Click and buy have their own confirmation website, displaying the amount you're about to transfer and asking for confirmation? If they accidentally charged you more than what you confirmed, then the problem is with Click and buy, not with EA.
I had no problems with my pre-order.
is Click and Buy a website for buying games? if so then its them that are responsible for giving you the pre-order code not ea or bioware. it would only be on them if you bought it from Origin.
also if they are a site for buying games and such, they may not even have pre-order codes since i don't see them on biowares list of sellers

edit: Origin should also work for all the available countries
Dont use seedy websites to buy stuff, this seems to be an operator error.
Click-and-buy is like paypal but horrendous.
gaou you want to add origin to the EU countries too, I'm in the UK and ordered the DD through Origin.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

sorry hadn't even noticed that. had copy and pasted it straight from the official site. XD
edit: you know you are having a bad morning when you keep clicking in a post to try and edit it only to realize you didn't select edit first.
Never heard of 'click and buy' what retailer were you using?

isnt Origin the only option available for digital downloads
All problems sorted out - EA got my code sent to me, and the extra charges were removed.
All's well that ends well - can't wait to play the game!
Glad to hear you got it sorted.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
I appreciate you posting this here. I understand that Click and Buy is probably at fault for your multiple credit charges, but it sounds like EA wasn't really on the ball with their customer service in not recognizing your purchase.
I had a similar experience with them when I bought WAR at release. The key I got with my box didn't work so I couldn't make an account, and thus couldn't play. I read other posters that had similar issues and they said it took EAMythic two or three days to fix each individual CD key issue due to their being a large backlog of them in their queue.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
yes but they also sell physical copies through origin
