MMO Recomendation

Hi.

To give you alittle back ground, I played Asherons Call for a long time Had many max characters etc. I loved the game.

I do tend to play solo for the most part but will group with others on occasion.  I played AoC for a few months I liked it as well but I didnt grip me. Recently, I played Gods and Heros nice game but is missing something. Honestly, I would prefer to not have to read a whole bunch. I examine documents at work all day.

I am not real a PvP guy.

I like to usually play as archer type or warrior.

I like to Quest but I dont like to just simply do grind quests that have no real meaning. I rather just run around if that the case.

Could anyone give there though on there games:

Pirates of the burning sea

EQ2

Vanguard

Rift

Runes of magic

Any others?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I recommend perfect world international too. Lots of races to choose from and good crafting system. Graphics are excellent and you can fly and swim in the game. There are pve and pvp servers.

I second Perfect World.  There are quests but you dont even have to participate in quests, except the ONE tutorial quest.  Its a nice Hack n Slash game that I normally use to just take my mind of things or when I don't feel like reading an in-depth quest line.  Not to mention great graphics.

I only played Rune of Magic in your list.

It's a great game but  I've always had alot of problem with the instalation.

There's alot of quest and there's an interesting dual-class system. If you prefer questing to grinding, I would really suggest you this game.

If you prefer grinding, Perfect world might be a good game. But I prefer Forsaken World to Perfect world. At start you don't have to grind until level ~30-40 where there isn't many quest left and you really need to grind non-stop and leveling might be.. boring and take time.

Other than that, you might want to try LOTRO if you were a fan of the movie.

Pirates of the burning sea - Very good, fun game, in depth crafting system, but forced pvp is there

EQ2 - great game, older community though

Vanguard - very enjoyable game, huge world, lots of races to choose from, low population

Rift - Newest and best game out, definitely worth a try

Runes of magic I dont know anything about this one

I played all of the top four games and they are all fantastic games so you wouldn't be making a mistake by going with any one of them.  I would caution you to observe the launch dates of each game though, because games that have been out for a long time like EQ2 typically have a low population of characters below the cap, meaning that leveling up can be quite lonely.

I would have to recommend RIFT.  I am playing it now since launch and it has alot of stuff to offer.Try the trial on the Byriel server.

    POTBS – I haven’t played it.

EQ2 – A surprisingly good PVE game. I enjoyed it more than WoW for quests and raids. The graphics are dated and the engine is a mess. The classes are very fun (Monk.)  PVP is a mixed bag. Nice player housing options.  You can really see where WoW borrowed from it. I think SOE did it better at some points too. But it is an SOE game…

    Vanguard – I haven’t played it.

Rift – I call it action-ie not for the way it plays but for the way it throws fights at you often. The soul system hybridizes all your characters granting versatility at the cost of identity.  Mediocre crafting. Bad PVP. Solid PVE features. Fun raids but you’re re-running the same dungeons over and over. Feels same ole same ole if your worn out on Wow like games. Gamebyro engine. A solid MMO.

Runes of Magic – This game had the absolute worst and most irritating install of any game I’ve tried in recent years. Took forever to download and then made me wait a few hours to patch. By the time I could play I ran around in game a few minutes and then just uninstalled it because I wasn’t impressed.

Well the Ranger in FFXI was my  favourite and imo the best design for a Ranger class of any game ever made.It is too bad Square did such a biutcher job at ruining this game, otherwise i would have reccomended it to anyone.

I wil ltell the op with my utmost honesty,i do not reccomend a single game ,they are al lvery poor quality games.Yes i am playing Eq2,it is barely holding my interest and i have two accounts. There is so many design flaws and tons of lazy effort shown thorugh out the game, thjaty i just can't recommend it.

The one game i am wiating to see is Archeage, however i am not big on pvp,so i hope it offers a good pve game.Personally i do not think AA wil lbe the answer either,it will again be lacking in many areas.I do not think GW2 has much chance and SWTOR looks spotty,so again a good solid complete game ,i think not.

IMO only FFXi put a twist on this genre [for awhile] so if the op is stuck on playing something,i would say try ROM for free.Refrain from spending any money ar at most spend less than the $15 sub fees we are accustomed to.You will get an almost identical game to Wow with a weak touch of FFXI sub class system.IMO it is a decent value if played for free.

Look to the future for perhaps Mr.Schilling's 38 studios game or ArcheAge,nothing else looks worth the time and effort to play.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

out of those games you mention I would go with Vanguard, besides very challenging combat, there is a very deep crafting system and a card game diplomacy of sorts, you can download the trial island which lets you do everything

I would stay away from Runes of Magic, it has become a real pay to win mmo the worst way possible.

Perfect World is ok, or Forsaken World if you look for F2P games.
PotBS was once a P2P game but has gone F2P also and is a nice distraction from the usuall fantasy stuff but the Avatarcombat is subaverage while the strength is the ship to ship combat!

Since the release of WoW MMORPG have gone down the drain thanks to blizzard in my option they all become mindless soloing to hit max lvl then boring raids or pvp, Guildwars 2 look like it will be something different and fun but its only in alpha beta atm prob be out january next year beta in novemeber im assuming, atm im just killinmg time playing varios games till something good comes out my hopes personaly are Guild wars 2 and Everquest 3 since it apparently gonne resemble Everquest 1 alot more which should make it a decent game however it is a long way off.

Ya I dont know if I like games that are FTP with Items to buy Its kinda annoying and reminds me of facebook app games haha.

I really dont mind paying a sub fee for a nice game.

I think I might try Rift since its newer.
