WoW Addiction

gargantroogargantroo Member Posts: 1,477

Hi my name is Greg. I used to live in a pretty large Victorian house on the Californian coast in San Francisco with a beautiful wife and 3 lovely children. Every weekend we'd go on a family picnic and I had a nice job working for a well-paying corporation. One day, one of my co-workers said "You need to come see this new game I got, it's awesome!". I had heard of World of Warcraft prior, and heard from some people that it was very popular and fun. I played it some on my co-workers computer and it was so much fun. Later, I ended up buying the game.
A week later, I was so into it I skipped the family picnic and my wife got a little worried. Soon I stopped sleeping and eating and my boss threatened to fire me for skipping so many work days. My work preformance got worse and I skipped more days. Finally, my boss caught me playing World of Warcraft instead of doing my job. He fired me very hesitantly and said how much he hated firing me. He told me if I got it back together I could work for him again.
When my wife heard the news, her jaw dropped. About a week ago, she told me "It's either me or World of Warcraft".
I'll finish my story later, I have a Molten Core raid to do.

If you aren't joking my friend you need help.  This is my favorite game of all time, but even then I still know when I need to call it quits.

This is one of the best WoW stories I've ever read; seeing how it's not true, makes it even better.

Why are you reading this? This is crap compared to what's above.

    Of course its not true...!!!

On a serious note, How dare your boss fire him!!! You need to sue him! He has no right to fire you just becuase you play this game non-stop and dont do any work... Oh, and there is an easy wayto fix your wife too... Introduce her to WoW, and if she doesnt want it or doesnt like it, kill her, then you can both play as undead in undercity.

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Lol, I know this is a fabrication becouse WOW cant sustain anybody longer than
2 weeks. Oh by chance if it is true then seek immediate medical help as
prolonged use of WOW will result in you saying,"Sux", "WTF", "Yo" and "Gay" at
highly annoying rates. This is a common problem when constantly teaming with
12 and 13 year olds that saturate the game, take care.

Even though this may be false, there are real life cases like this in real life with people who were totally addicted to Everquest and not only lost thier jobs, friends and family but some actually killed themselves.

I think the game is still to young to have cases like above yet, but give it a few years and WoW will also have thier own nut jobs.

Of course its not true! Im 15 in real life and I've had the game for about 4 months and put a little over 100 hours. I just thought a little joke to throw in would be good ::::09::

so..I guess the other boys are right...man, you had some us fooled a bit ! but really, i don't think that a game could influence a normal  human being in any way...yes, it could make you happy, and you won't want to stop playing it but if I have some urgent work to do I will close it...knowing that my character will be where I left him...untouchedimage

Type in OLGA on Google. Might take you awhile, but you will find some crazy stories of MMO addiction. I think some cases show worse addiction then heroin.
