I played Shaiya almost to lvl cap(got to lvl 58 at 50% in ep4 - there was max lvl 60 back then, now it's 70). But then I got a bit bored of just grinding all the time. Then I quitted and came back when the economy wasn't normal anymore and quitted again.
I didn't spent a dime, but i spent quite a bit of in-game money on consumables bought from other players. So i farmed a lot. Played 24/7 back then cause I didn't had a job and I could farm when there was no priest around and grind to death with priest around. Basically that's what you need in these kind of mmos, either grind a lot to make money, or get a well-payed job and afford to toss 100$-300$ a month to be uber. If you just want to enjoy the game and don't care too much about owning people, you can do it without paying a dime.
Nah, I usually tire after reaching halfway up. When you must put lotsa money in the store it takes away the fun, I like to find my cool stuff myself instead of buying it.
Rom is possible just doing quests, but that was then,i did notice when i left the last 5 levels of that past cap was real hard to attain even though i had spent money on gear imbuing.I have no idea what the level is now,but the actual grind is nowhere near what Shaiya is and i played that game also.
ROM is pretty mcuh like Wow with a cheap copy of FFXI's sub class system. All you do is run all the quests and you will level up.Judging by how much harder the ymade it when i was playing, the new elvel cap i am sure will be very hard to attain, but you don't have to do the harder quests, just kill some mobs insteads. You really need to take advantage of the free status by duo or trio boxing, that way you get the heals and buffs you need to have a chance.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
