I guess if they RP'd Torchlight they'd have to dress as disney characters.

Well... Since the Torchlight team designed Diablo 1 and 2, I think they can pretty much mock it all they want.
I will always be a Diablo fan simply b/c its story is so enthralling (to me at least). From what I've seen regarding Torchlight, its story is rather tame and actually seems to mimic D2 with the alchemist going missing while trying to destroy some evil force in the tunnels below the town (seems to me to be an AWFUL lot like the Dark Wanderer thing from D2). And I really am anxious to find out how the world of Sanctuary has changed in the aftermath of the destruction of the Worldstone. So many questions left unanswered! That being said, however, I agree with the voice of reason (Revenant) and will hold off on actual judgments till AFTER I have played both games.
I am hoping that the developer of the game will provide something which will let you to retire the character which you are supposed to play in the game. also you will be able to pick up the new character if you really wanted to get in the game. yes you are right there will be no difference into both single player as well as multiplayer in terms of the campaign. Also there should replay for the march and it there should be greater loot rewards into the game.
