Well there was a decent keep battle. Too bad the Usual Suspects showed up. Bugs, exploits, gm interference, poor game performance.
The thread is a good read.

Bugs.
Fight #1: Keep down to 60%
We assembled quite a good number of people, maybe 20, 25 and moved over to the keep and got a good welcome by archers.
Next thing I know is that their melee rush out, I kite around a bit on my horsy and then it got killed by invisibles (got names though) even though I was on full speed.
What came next was a skirmish that took an hour or so, was pretty good fun, both sides lost some people. We decided to get regeared.
Fight #2: Keep down to 50%
Once we were good again we moved in once more and even though we decided to not rush in... we did and got wiped. Invisibles, us being scattered all over the place.
Was mainly a tactical issue, doubt the invisibles changed a lot.
PS: shame on you, whoever placed the campfires next to the wall.
No idea how the finally battle was - altogether for me it was a lot of fun.
Exploits.
The campfire thing is allowed sadly. I asked a GM about it when we were at the FURY keep and they did it to us. |
Spam of Campfires to drop other players FPS is not allowed and campfires do get removed by HCs/GMs. It was done in the past, and if some of the HCs are not up to date, they should check in with Discord.

Do not know how they got in the keep but one side is claiming exploit one side is claiming they got in legally.
Well WSX and company were persistent. The keep started with 18 million HP and was around 800k when the last battle broke out. Odin and company had no reagents, arrows, bandages and potions left which kind of screwed the last battle. All i could hear in Mumble is im useless without cuprum and please give me bandages. It was great fun and i hope the TC patch brings a lot more of these. Funny, I guess AQ didnt want us to take the keep down. If they can't take the WSX keep down nobody can . Reshi Rahan |
Well you guys somehow got into the keep and used the catapult inside the keep.
GM Interference.

Then they should have acted as soon as it happened, not 6-7 hours later, when the keep is almost down causeing odin to hafta scramble to put up another cata, basically costing them the seige |

Seems you can not have a battle in MO without any of this happening. TC is coming (soonish) Is any of this going to be fixed before it comes out?
Comments
-Working as intended. Anyone with a problem dying to invisible people is not hardcore and needs to go back to WOW. SV is a small team, what do you expect, a working game? Just wait till TC comes out, everything will be fixed.
BTW, the poulation is growing to numbers never before seen.
Wtf is TC?
Territory control to replace the placeholder territory control lulz.

HAHA... MO runs on hope!!! You wait, one of these days...

I love how the people that play this game are so used to exploits, bugs, and questionable GM interference that it is all ok when these things happen. A couple people complained on the forums and they know nothing will be done about it..and thats ok too. In MO these are acceptable working game mechanics. As the other guy said "working as intended"
There's several links regarding territorial control in the first post of this thread:
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/361/view/forums/thread/326508/MO-Territorial-Control-Information-Now-Available.html
Battles like the one today will probably be of a different character once that system is in.
Even so, people had a lot of fun today.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
I guess having fun in MO is dealing with gm interference, bugs, exploits and then going to the forums to accuse each other of said actions undercover.

One could wonder if we are all adults when reading threads like this... I know this is a game but why are there always peoples ending up exploiting the shit out of the game in conflicts like this? What's the fun about cheating? Do you realise you slowdown MO's development because you force devs to work on that... Ok, these exploits shouldn't be there in the first place and it should obviously get fixed as soon as possible once it's discovered but surely, there are better, more mature ways to get devs attention other than using it to grief peoples until enough of them complain on the forum...
We're such a small community and everyone try to grief the hell out of eachother with exploits...
I understand the game is about pvp and war but could we not have good sportsmanship?

It is hard not to exploit in MO. There are too many ways to do it. You can be exploiting and not even know it. Or if everyone is doing it and you do not you are meat.
I remember when the bow stamina exploit was the rage. Everyone was running around with a bow on their back. Me playing a thief I was as good as how fast I could get away. I was wonfering how fully armed warriors were keeping up with me. Then I learned about the bow stam exploit and saw how they were outstaming me. Either I could not do it and get killed all the time due to people exploiting or I could put a bow on my back and get fast stamina. I stocked up on bows

There are no exploits in MO, only undocumented features...
Using the undocumented features may produce some unexpected results, but that is known as "emergent gameplay", which is a unique (and greatly treasured) feature of sandbox games.
The failure of SV to fix exploits is the reason why I cancelled my 2 accounts.
naïve of this guy to blame the player and not the game.
after all, MO is a very competitive game where people kill and loot each other.
why wouldn't players use any exploit that gives them the upper hand, especially when the devs are stating that they are powerless to do anything about it?
expecting people to play "fair" is just stupid. PvP is not about sportsmanship, it's about winning. if SV basically tells people that exploiting is ok, how could anyone still play MO and believe that fights will be "fair"?
Emphatically and specifically, this will not be fixed before Territory Control is implemented sometime soon[TM]. We have the official word on that.
You know how people say, there's no time to do it right so we'll have to do it over? There's no time to fix this so it won't be fixed until it's replaced with something (the PFTR or "poofter" referred to below) that (may) work (or not. Perhaps with its own new and improved bugs and possible points of exploit).
Likewise, until this Presumably Fixed Total Replacement is put in place, nothing that doesn't work is on hold. Until then, the broken way it's working keeps working brokenly to break more stuff, and (for bonus points) the morale of the community.
More proof, if any were needed, that this is not a game, it's a beta you pay to support. Enjoy it while it lasts. Once it starts working like a real game-- if it ever does-- it'll be surprising to me if the price of a subscription doesn't go up.
«Si oblitus fuero usque ad finem omnia opera eorum»
I'd thought the man quoted as he posted above was sincere, until I read this. He can behave nicely. Now I have to suspect he is being sarcastic rather than naïve, and either way I am disappointed.
Regardless, these exploitable issues are exactly what the devs must be forced to work on, as people in every arena do not do what they should as often as they simply do anything they can. That's human nature. These games are not made for either Artificial or Angelic Intelligences to play.
«Si oblitus fuero usque ad finem omnia opera eorum»
I doubt MO will be around by years end, let alone when its "working like a real game" . SV simply doesnt have the time, talent or money.
