Could you guys help me find a game?

Ive been a mmorpg player for a long time.  I started playing DragonRealms, a text based game, and played for 5 years.  It was so good for only a MUD, excellent depth.  Then I played EQ to try something with graphics,  I liked it.  It felt epic.  Then being a Star Wars fan, I did Galaxies.  It was alright.  Im interested in dabbling in something again.   Here is what I am looking for in order of importance

Community
Interesting items
grinding that that doesnt go on forever (like Galaxies did)
subscription not over 15 a month
As far as the genre, it really doesnt matter, but I like classing D&D

I know there isnt one particular game that has all of this, but anything close.  Heck, im even looking at the free games posted on this board.

    ah, you sound like a classic nice gamer, welcome to MMORPG.COM enjoy your stay, this place is packed with alot of nice people!!! me being probally one of the meanest in some people's perspective.....

    well your kinda in-between a gaming revolution as you may know, with the games of yesterday getting old, and games are coming out lately...

    go and sign up for the Dofus beta at http://www.dofus.com/en (i dont know if the site is up or down i think they are updating) the game will be beta for 2 months and will become P2P.

    the awesome thing is in 2 months, the official release of Roma Victor, a Life simulation of the life of a Roman will be out just as Dofus ends...

    so your road is a 2 prong fork, the handle is Dofus beta for months, one prong is countinue Dofus, the other is play Roma Victor.

    btw, i forgot to add, Roma Victor is a FREE of charge game, but you can pay monthyl (what they call donating) and in return you get in-game money... dont worry, you cant sell stuff like SOE allows.

    I hope i helped you get on track, but sign up for Dofus ASAP because the beta is closed and when they get a certain amount of testers, theya re closing the gates... then you will be SOL!

    if your looking for a pay game, and have never played DaoC i would suggest that. its an older game but its still one of, if not the best all around mmorpg out there. updated graphics with last expansion, huge world, nice mix of pve and pvp.
    and they are adding 2 new servers on the 14th of july so you can start fresh.


    being that noone on this site has played dufus, its hard to say of they match any of your wish list at all.
    but it looks ok, its kind of like a comic book style graphics but its not out and its only going into beta.

    Dofus is like Final Fantasy tactics, is a comical and funny game. yes ive played it, you can play the French version, but its hard.

    I dont really know what kind of gamer I am.  I just like the experience.  I really don't like PvP, Im more of a level chaser.  Thats where I get my kicks.  The progression is the fun of the game.  And then in my downtime, I just like to hang out or hunt in groups.  That pretty much describes me.  I just had an epiphany. Heh

    I will second "Dark Age of Camelot".

    Great game, great graphics, tons of players... and a LOT of fun.

    I had an old roommate that played DAOC.  I remember the graphics being pretty robust a few years ago.  There was something about it that I liked.  I think I'll look at it again.

     

    I just looked at Dofus and I am pretty amazed that I like it.  That didnt seem my style but maybe I should try something different like that

    Dark Age of Camelot graphics are outdated though. I would try World War II online.
