Transformers Universe: Vote to Name Decepticon & Autobot In-Game Class

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

MMORPG.com and Jagex have teamed up to give our users an exclusive opportunity to help name both an Autobot and Decepticon in-game class. We've got a special voting page set up for readers to check out the class description and to vote for or suggest their favorite class name.

You'll want to head to our special Transformers voting page later today to cast YOUR vote! VOTING has begun! Head to our MMORPG.com Transformers Universe Polling page to make your voice heard!

Additionally, the Jagex team has laid out it plans for this weekend's New York Comicon:

At the TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE MMO stand fans will get a unique experience as they pass through the enclosed stand at Comic Con. They will have the chance to pledge their allegiance to either the AUTOBOT or DECEPTICON faction, customise their very own TRANSFORMERS CHARACTER and even have their photograph taken alongside their creation in the interactive journey.

Visitors who pass through the enclosed stand will also be some of the first to view footage showing what the browser based MMO will look like, experience the graphical style and direction and be able to see firsthand how the Jagex development team is working with Hasbro to create the look and feel of the game through live concept art and animation demonstrations.

In addition to the activity on the show floor, members of the TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE development team will be taking part in the following panel sessions at the show:

  • Date: Friday, October 14

  • Time: 7:45 pm - 8:45 pm

  • Location: 1A24

From looking at all the videos, concept art, and Screenshots thrown around at a couple conferences they've had. I can safely say the game is going to be a low quality "Free To Play" game.

I agree as well, but as you guys said about the quality of the game, this small block to text right here pretty much states it all:

    "browser based MMO"

I am not browser biased, well I guess you could say I sorta am. I do try them out, but I have yet to see an excellent quality game yet. As its still rather new in the industry and as browser development matures over the next few years, I could see it possible.

The best I've seen (in my opinion nor have I tried no where near all of em out) has been Battlestar Galatica, but still felt it could have been so much better developed then developing it the browser. The overall graphics are smooth though, not like most you see with not 100% fluid movements or animations, but docking was underdeveloped, and I see this game maybe coming to par with Battlestar Galatica, but will fall short of its true potential being low budgeted.

actually the best browser based mmo i've seen has to be Earth Eternal although it does require you to install something for the game it is played in your web browser and it looks kind of like the game free realms from sony

although from the sound of it, i have a bad feeling it's going to be almost as lame as the Marvel Super Hero Squad mmo

edit okay i just checked out EE for the first time in almost a year and it's not a browser based game though i could have sworn it used to be idk maybe i made a mistake

EE was originally a browser based MMO that ran through Unity (I think). The original company, however, went bankrupt and shut the game down. It recently reopened under a new company as a client-based game.

As far as browser based games, I agree that for the most part they are generally pretty low quality. However, my hopes have been renewed by Glitch, which has basically turned the typical browser MMO on it's head, as well as my own standards. I'm not convinced TU will be anything great, but I'm not fully condemning browser-based games just yet.

I think the EE game you guys are talking about is Earth Eternal....not Eden Eternal.

Earth Eternal is still a browser-based game, but requires you to download and install a group of files.

yeah if you notice in my post i mentioned it was Earth Eternal but it's now got a client window that opens seperate from your browser so it's not browser based anymore it's just launched that way
