SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Final Fantasy XIV team has posted the working notes for the upcoming v1.19a patch. The team will be addressing several key features including the Battle system, adding a new Grand Company side quest, adjusting prices on some NPC vendor items, system adjustments and important bug fixes.

As always, the list is quite comprehensive and includes notes from the dev team. You can read the full list of the proposed changes for patch v1.19a on the Final Fantasy XIV forum.

Additionally, the team has also posted a new lore piece surrounding the All Saint's Wake event scheduled to run from October 18th through November 1st. You can read up on the event on the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone.

/facepalm to all of the haters and doubters.

Square-Enix promised to fix FFXIV and they instantly release the list of changes for next patch after the massive 1.19 release. Like it or not FFXIV is here to stay and getting a lot bigger and better by every patch and since the graphics of the game are at such high level the game won't feel outdated for years to come.

FFXIV will never draw a crowd such as WoW in western world but it will definately be one of those games that run solid, stable and enthuastic players. Personally I'm happy to have a variety of MMORPGs around even though I will probably never go full on with the game.

My weak mashed instant-gratification brain won't adjust to these old-school RPGs that take time and dedication but I still have high respect for them. But never say never, maybe I'll load up FFXIV sometime in the future when they've finally overcome FFXI in popularity :j

Can't be arsed to get interested in other MMOs now that GW 2 is "right-around-the-corner" ;)

I am fresh back after playing at launch for a month or so.

The game has improved by leaps and bounds and it appears as if it will continue to do so.

I'd be very likely to sub up, if they announced today that they would be charging again. Very soon, with what they say is coming in the next few patches, it won't even be a concern.

Imo, the problem isn't with people that say the game is still bad or that it still has way to go or that they won't touch it, but cheesy posts like "let it die SE" are definitely obnoxious when they are doing everything they can and then some to make up for a good experience.

My personal problem with this patch is they actually let loads of people to skyrocket the leveling via cheating-like system where they just afk in a room while high levels spa aoe spells. Some linkshell (guild) even got people from 1 to 50 in 19 hours while doing so. Still, SE don't plan to rollback nothing for those people.

Sadly, it still feels like playing a veta version of a game after stuff like this. Only that no wipe will follow when release date comes...

It's not that I agree with you, but I don't think they have that option. I don't think they can afford pissing the people off anymore. Yeah they game is free so maybe it's not that big of a deal. But I think they care more about getting the game up and fully running than stuff like that atm

Holy crap they already released it lol...oh well I was looking forward to getting a nice boost in levels but it is good of them to fix how insanely fast it was to get to 50. Just wish I would've gotten to around 40 before that lol

Hopefully they manage to fix it. I still really wish they just took FF11 and just improved it. FF11 was a good game that just had some flaws (mostly due to wanting to get it on console and pc) yet they just ditched it and came up with a rather lack luster product. Graphic wise its nice, but its flawed pretty much everywhere else.

I'm still upset they took out the class system, something that was pretty well recieved in FF11 and tossed in such a lack luster 'weapon' system for changing classes. That alone crushed my hopes for the game long before many of the other issues that it brought up did.

When will companies learn that you take mechanics that worked well and improve on them, not ditch it all in hopes of fixing problems that don't exist and creating even worst ones. While I hope they can recover to some degree, I just doubt I'll ever actually play the game.

I logged to try 1.19 yesterday, I do have mixed reaction though but overall it looks better. Chocobo is a very welcomed addition though I would like to permanently own one, but for now it is suffice. Still, they should implement quest board/giver outside the city, I for one would like to live in the wilderness (become a hermit and whatnot) but atm there is no incentives to do that.

Forget 1.19!!! Feast your eyes apon version 2.0!

Absolutely blown away by Square on this. With the Final Fantasy name on the line they seemingly arent going to settle for passable. To the many years to come in Eorzea.

I am not convinced they have done enough to justify re-activating Subs in Nov-Dec, The patch 2.0 teaser thing looks ok from an art point of view, the question is will it translate correctly to the game?

Will log in monday and if it can keep me logged in for longer than 30 mins i may try it again

But given a choice between Sub for FFXIV or SWTOR in December I know which one wins.......

I agree, the subscription period is coming too soon. The game is far from being 15$ a month :o

Although their information sharing is awesome I'm rather disappointed how little effort they put  into creating the auction house system, even though it's one of the main factors why old FFXI players are let down by the game :s

It looks very cool but things which really interest me will be in version 2.0 so.. another year.

I own the game and have barely played it. Re-installed a couple of days ago and am still pretty under-whelmed. To me, charging a monthly fee now is a bad decision but I'm just a gamer. What do I know? Hopefully they know what they're doing.

They need to come up with a better way to download these patches. I bought the game yesterday after wanting to try it for the first time, after reading about 1.19. I installed whatever version was on that disc and it immediately starts downloading patches incrementally at 3kb/s. God knows when it'll finish updating.

I really want to try this game but I'm debating whether or not it's worth waiting for.

To put another side to the story: I downloaded the patches with speeds of anywhere between 500 and 2.000 kB/s.

I don't know what the problem might be but try a little something: restarting the client/patcher if it doesn't pick good speeds.

I agree it is great to see SE making XIV work. At free to play, though, a good deal. Trouble is that at some point I am thinking next year we will get the sub back. I think if any are looking for a good PvE game, the sub-less XIV is a great one to try now. I'd love to see MMORPG re-do their review and actually post screen shots of their own, and not copyrighted from other sites, that show that the reviewer has played more than 30 minutes of the game, let's say they have played an hour a day for 4 weeks or 28 days. Does this site have the balls to do that...we will see.

The trouble is the patcher using torrents and my isp throttling peer to peer traffic in peak times. Downloading through the night doesn't always work. If there was a direct http download then there wouldn't be a problem.

Obviously it isn't just me that suffers from these knds of downloads and they should offer alternate means of download.
