upcoming/announced sandbox games?
Im a big fan of open ended games and i need to find SOMETHING to look forward too. So i want to know what news people have. I dont care if its a newsarticle about " x company have an upcoming unnamed sanbox game on the way" or if you even have a title, I just need something too look forward too and start searching information of.
Im an old UO/SWG fan and at the moment the only thing im waitning for is Archeage that hopefully can fill my needs. but i need more.
So any information that you have on a game i would like to know.

Dawn tideI have downloaded dawntide and gonna try that out.
Think i may beta test dawnside see how it is.

Then there is Arche age that seems to be a hybrid game, but it is by an unknown asian dev, unlike the other 2 so until I been proven differently my hope is to the top 2, those companies have sandbox experience and great crews.
Zenimax MMO studio is headed by one of the devs behind DaoC while WoDO have people both from Eve and from the P&P studio White wolf.
I'm looking forward to Salem honestly, I thought their older game Haven and hearth was amazing, sadly that game is flawed in that if you start after everyone else, you have zero hope of ever being as good, and is the only game where you can effectively reach godmode in a MMO through game mechanics. :P
To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.

I have been playing dawntide for the last 2 days in open beta, and it have huge potential. Sure the movement is really bad atm, and there is alot of stuff that need tuning, but i love the fact that there is like 20 gather/crafting proffestions , 10 combat and 6 sorcerer proffesions.
As i said it have a huge potential and i think im gonna be in that game for a little while atleast to help devs out to finnish the game.
Do you have any link to the announcement of this "unknown" game? have been looking around alittle but havent found anything
The studio behind Archeage is NOT unknown...their Lead Designer Jake Song is well known and the father of Lineage.
If you want to play THE SANDBOX GAME, play Minecraft.
It's going to be fully released in november.
Have fun waiting for the next 5 years. Looks like I'm sticking with Mortal and maybe Dawntide until then.

To call Dawntide raw would be a compliment to the state that game is in at this time. Supposedly in August it lost funding, was supposed to launch in October, and they are just now working on it again. I would actually go so far as to say Dawntide makes Mortal Online look like a AAA mmo.

It just something wrong with regrisrating on theire forums, download the game and log in with one of the username you tried to make. it works to log into the game, its just that it wont work the first day you create it on the forums
I think WildStar fits into a Sandbox. At least sorta with the class system.

Darkfall 2.0 expansion should be coming out sometime soon. If you havent checked out that game yet than I highly recommend that you do it. In my opinion its the best sandbox out right now by far. I do not see any game on the horizon that will compete with the adrenaline rush Darkfall can bring.
