Boy I really wish all the sheep and fanboys would find something else to do with their time...
TOR all the way.
There, I fixed it for you.
The "fanboys" have a forum to hang out on, called swtor.com. Maybe ArenaNet should splurge for one so you guys actually have something to talk about other than, ya know...SWTOR.
Star Wars the Old Republic IS Kotor 3. You'll see.
Yeah, except for that whole pesky MMORPG thing. Gimme a break.
If someone wanted to ignore the MMO features and play the game as a Kotor 3......., they could. It would be complete with 8 stores each of which would have many paths through the story based on choices made. Including different endings to chapter 3. Along with multiple ways to play each class based on AC and tree choices. And be a very well done successor to the Kotor stories IMO. There will even be a solo based planet to continue a bit of story telling. Along with expansions down the line that will extend the story into chapter 4 and further.
The problem would be all the content missed that is a big part of TOR. You would miss the 15 flashpoints for launch. You would miss many of the Heroic group quests as well as the world group stories on most planets. You would miss the very unique multiplayer dialogue system. The fun of socializing in a MMO. Crafting for anything more than your own needs. Story based Operations that look to be fun for anyone with the normal mode and 8 or 16 group size. You could still PvP, but that wouldn't be very SPG. You could join the open world PvP and objective based or teritorial control PvP planets as a SPG I guess. Just pretend that all those other players are NPCs.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them? R.A.Salvatore
TOR won't feel as much like Star Wars as a KOTOR 3 could have, but it should have significantly longer gameplay. The feel of the old Star Wars games will be mostly lost in TOR. Win some, lose some.
This *is* KOTOR 3. Same story, same team. Only difference is that we can now play it with friends.
Make no mistake, if they made it single player, they would not have gotten the budget to make it so big and have so many available options. TBH, I can't believe LA is even paying as much as they are, but I am glad for it, because it will be the sequel this series deserves.

No doubt Kotor 3 with multiplayer would have been a much better game. Creating a poll asking mmo players if they would rather have a non mmo game is kinda redundant.

Just a thought.
Im 100% sure it wont be and it wont come anything close, but Swtor might be a ok singleplayer game anyway.

Yes, I agree with the equine.
