I dont know ring, I have yet to see a whole lot of similarity in armor as well and I've been playing for quite some time. I also see that you're new to the boards so I'm assuming your an alt for eithier Swift or Jorev. Usually people don't come in with such hostitlity after being here for two days. Nice try though. I mean, why would you get so upset about a post directed negatively towards Swift and Jorev? Way to blow your cover.

And if by some miracle you actually are a new member, keep up with posts like that and you'll be in the same boat Jorev and Swift are.

How embarasing is that Ring, busted on like your second post. If you're gonig to create alts, you really need to hid e it better than that.

I'll tell you what, my character name is Talos and I'm on Lucan D'lere server, you find someone wearing the EXACT SAME peices of armor I am, I'll never post on these boards again no matter how many stupid things you say.

Well I can't speak for Swiftflow, but Ring is not an alt of mine, I don't need alts to get my valid points across. Having read the way Swiftflow posts though, I would venture to say it isn't him either. Perhaps you can sick your biased mod friend to uncover the truth and ping IP addresses. Or perhaps you and he are one and the same.

I was just making an assumption Jorev. The guy is only on here for two days and he comes in here raving about how bad Eq2 is. I usually see new members starting out with the "Hi, I'm new, nice to meet you" type posts. You say it's not you? Alright, I'll take you're word for it. But I know for certain there are people on here who would create alts just to add to their trolling.

And for Ring, what server did you play on? What was your name? Just curious.

I really think its pointless to say - game is bad cause when i started in nooby zone everyone looked the same! Of course they did! Or you want on the first day of a game to see guys totally different? Yes, there's much races and facial and body customization, but omg!Sounds pathetic, i guess its something like selfpersuade thing, you know... aw man, no no no.. this game is bad, no eyes..dont look, its all the same!I said dont look! Its bad! ... Hmm, water bad photoshop thing, i would say..uh, dont look if you dont like, but if it really is what matters then get into options and check those, yep definetly it looks horrible on minimum, check max for something extra-cool, grass...hm, you sure you dont say it only to not regret you left after playing WoW? Want cartoon back? Get back to WoW :( ...

Same armors... what to say, you kinda... imagine, there are different materials...different bonuses from each, like in real, one will be light and give you chancce for better maneuver, another will be hard as rock and will be heavy, but hm! No problem, nothng will get throught, about mages and other types of armors, yep there are some kind of robes that can be put on covering all other things, but like...if it will help you, thought you canceled already, try to ask people to strip part by part all their items to see if theyre stalking you in some of their fantasies, trying to copy you... might be youre their idol by chance? Or by chance that was your friend you started with and..by chance same class and yay, you went in a shop, bought 2 sets of things, and yay!He is copying you... ow..

    sorry sorry..got out of control..

I dont understand, if he made a username 2 days ago, does it realy mean hes new? I for example dont sign up with any site right away, I usualy read through some of the posts, hang around a bit to see if it will fit me. I signed up with MMORPG very fast becuase its a great site. But thinking that someone who had 2 posts or just signed up 2 days ago as new is...silly. I mean no offence and I didnt read into much of this post to make a guess if ring is and alt or not, just brushed through it more or less.

On the topic, I personaly was disapointed with EQ2, mostly with how it was implemented, zones, bad navigation, unfriendly questing, very boring soloing and really annoying crafting made me last only 3 weeks. Idea behind EQ2 is good, the theory is there, but the way it was programmed ... sux

It would be great if we had a game with EQ2 idea and WoW implementation. Id love to see something like that.

Even if that's the case Jimmy, I still see most of the memebers first posts and non-confontational. I didn't sign up right away eithier but I also didn't come in calling people 12 year olds. Also, he said he didn't think there were any morons on the mmorpg.com boards for a few days showing he hasn't seen the boards for too long. If he had he wouldn't have said "a few days".

As far as your concerns about the game go, those are your opinions. Did you play the game at launch or more recently? I ask this because they have implemented quite a few new solo quests that make soloing quite a bit more interesting. I'm also not sure what you mean by "bad navigation". What about it was bad? It never takes too long to get anywhere and the maps are pretty straight forward.

The questing is confusing, VERY confusing. I actualy had to write down all my quests in what zone I have to complete them. My list only shows where I started the quest, but not where to go to finish it. In order to know where to finish it i have to read the quest. Since there are many quests, its very hard to manage them all. I found myself spending 5 mins after completing one quest to check if i have any other quests that I had to finish in this zone. A very very simple solution to this would be ability to sort quests by zone where I have to go to advance that quest and after that where to complete it. Sometimes, I would spend 1-2 hours trying to complete 5 or so quests. All I had was a name of a person and a general zone. Very hard to find that person.

That brings to navigation. First of all, zoning. Initialy I thought I wouldnt mind it, but as it turns out, its very annoying. There is not good map, I had to actualy find external program to help me out with maps and navigation. Another annoyance, although more esthetic then physical, is ability to climb hills, not just hills, but impossible hills. I was very surprised when I climed that hill just off the FP docks.

I played EQ2 for 7 days right after release, and about 2 months ago. I was playing enquisitor and it was fun most of the time. But soloing is boring because EQ2 does not have that much variety of skills/spells as WoW does. So its pretty much nuke-heroik-nuke-nuke rince and repeat, throw a heal if necessary, maybe debuf before engaging. With small amount of spells soloing feels routine.

Well it has one more as of 7/3.

Good to see this place hasn't changed, lol ... the same yahoos posting the same drivel under different names.   And they'll never link their toons ... how odd.

As far as server population, honestly I don't know whether it's going up or down.  But I do know that everywhere I go is very busy ... very.  As far as the armor, now and then I see someone who looks a lot like me ... just like every other game I've played.  For the most part people don't look alike, and, as always, they'll filter more and more armor types into the game over time.  EQ was the same way ... e.g., for a long time every cleric was purple (Ethereal Mist armor).  Then more and more choices became available.

Correct me if im wrong, but I think those rankings are absolute. Meaning anyone who made a char there and got ranked is listed, even if that person is not subscribing anymore.

This problem I agree with. Nice thing is? Its been fixed. Your journal now tells you what zone you need to be in to finish. You still can't sort by zone, but its a huge step forward.

I hear a lot of complaints about the map system, but I've never had trouble with it. I am, however one of the few it seems. Also, I dont know what hills your talking about...most of the ones I've tried are fairly realistically impossible to climb. Doesn't mean your WRONG...just didn't notice it.

What level did you get to? I found combat to be repetitive until about level 15 or so and things get much more interesting, IMO. I really dont see a big difference and in fact prefer having the HOs since at least they require some forethought. WoW, to me, is just spam your best attack...not as much strategy.

Probably Jimmy. However Lavastorm definately isn't suffering from a lack of players, I do know that. I wouldn't say its busier now then any other time I have played however.

My inquisitor is level 24. I finished most quests in commonlands and i just went out to nek forest.
The hill i was talking about is when u use a bell to zone into the docks, you have to go up a hill, then turn left and go up some more and then you are on the plains. The hill i was talking is at that location where u turn left and still go up, instead of turning left, u keep going straight ahead. That hill is very sharp, visualy it looks as if anything walking on it would fall down, and yet I dont. Ive seen many people walk on it so it doesnt look like a bug or something.

Looks like there are some positive changes to EQ2. I may buy another month after my PS account expires.

I know the hill your talking about and I go down it, but only because I have safefall, without it I would be toast.

There may be so flatter spots people climb the angles to get up it but I don't think you can just run right up it anywhere, you have to know where to hit. You get that issue with most games that don't have invisible zone barriers to stop people from going to certain places like guild wars. SWG integrated terrain negotiation which is an interesting twist to it to me, however not very realistic either.

I think the spot your talking about simply has a few exploit spots, I will check the next time I am at the commonland docks.

Something else I've noticed is population varies per server per city. For instance on Lucan D'lere, it is MUCH easier to find a group of any level in Freeport than it is in Qeynos, and I know some servers are the opposit.

How accurate does everyone think www.mmorpgchart.com is?  They list EQ2's active subs at 500k or so.

I think the site is crap. The guy just reads the same press release as everyone else and basiclly guesses. I woudln't be suprised if it's right, but I wouldn't base my whole life on it either.
