Looks like the hype score for SWTOR is increasing

It was at 7.90 for the longest time.  Now it has just recently jumped up to 8.0.  That could mean that the beta testers are really loving the game. ;)

It means that the game is coming closer to launch, so more people are looking into it.

That score doesn't do anything to portray the "hype" of a game anyway, it just gives an average of all the votes cast for it on this website.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

Not sure what happened. Could be a roll back too.

There has been some outside tampering with the hype meter to boost Dragona's score. I think they undid that as well as other obvious sabotage attempts like Archage's sudden drop, etc.

That meter's more manipulated than a teenager with bad self esteem.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

I'd say yes, beta testers are having fun and loving the game. But that's all I can say.

I will say this, the two big games this year will be Batman Arkham City and SWTOR.

That's very true. The meter here is a joke really. It's no more a good barometer than Xfire ranking system.

+1.  Pay no attention to the hype meter, either good or bad.

Don't take MMORPG'S meter serious, this site is filled with stat bumbers and sandbox lovers and a deep hate for main stream MMO's, I enjoy this site for the news and blogs not the hype meters.

Lol wow, it's hard to believe that any of these hype-trolls could actually believe what they say on these forums.

A lot of sandbox haters too, who want to kick the sandbox fans when they are down.

I noticed all the top 10 games jumped up a bit. Unlikely that it has anything to do with beta testers.

I have to admit that i was slightly skeptical of the game. The Beta last weekend alleviated any doubts.

Let's be painfully honest here,  there's jokers on the boards that admit to voting down games they don't like (I'm looking at yu GW2 fans), so I really don't trust the hype meter one way or the other.

Ditto. Seriously, why do people put so much stock in garbage like "hype" meters? You've got people here who vote from multiple accounts and others who sign up for the express purpose of bumping their favorite games. It's not in  any way an accurate indicator of what the majority think.

You were more critical of the game before you played it.  The game will still need some work, thats obvious.  I also don't know the build the weekend testers were playing, so can't really comment,  well.... I can't comment either way.

I really would like to go into some details on my experience,  I just think the approach is different for everyone.

In no way is the game a bad game, and, yet it isn't a new revolution (no MMO will truly be, honestly).  It does some things very right, and other things, need work.  You have people who love the game beyond belief,  and others who don't like the game.  The common misconception on these forums is, which camp outnumbers the other.

Hmm, starts out talking about hype meter, ends in the usual hater vs fan thread.

Don't ya'll ever get tired of it?  And why do they always have < 20 posts?

I'm with ya Ice most of them I've given up responding to, there are those who dislike TOR or have reservations about it I'll discuss things with, because they offer a fun debate. The rest? Just a bunch of blowhards who won't leave well enough alone.

Yea Id agree.  But at this point Im scared to even comment any further.  Apparently I broke the NDA.....you know....not discussing any specific details of the game itself.  Ummm.....

Here the rule is you can't even say whether you're experience was positive or negative. That's why i never replied earlier to what you had to say, I can't even say whether I agree or disagree with what you had to say.

Errr.....okay I guess that makes sense.  Except for the fact Ive seen a hundred posts of people saying THEY LOVED IT and we're all in for a treat!  And they were in Beta!  Wink Wink!

A personal opinion is not breaking the NDA.  Now if you start discussing that you dont like mechanic A and why (a mechanic no one even knows about ) then yea, thats an NDA violation.  Or if you start listing bugs or talking about how you dont like spaceship combat and why, listing actual problems, then thats breaking the NDA for instance.

I did mention something about not liking....ahem....something.  But its something everyone already knows is included.  And I didnt even give examples or why I didnt like it.

But I guess if thats a rule I suppose I'll have to follow it.  I was just under the impression that the NDA dealt with not talking about game specifics regarding mechanics, bugs, connection, etc in detail.  Which I didnt do.  Ah well.  Off topic anyways.

Believe me man I find it as frustrating as you do, it severly limits what discussions I can and can not take part in which kinda defeats the purpose of my membership here.
