What do you think REALLY hurts MMORPG's most?

I think companies who incessantly promote a certain game while bashing competing games hurt the industry the most. They focus all their attention trying to convince people to buy a game that is mediocre at best, and it works a lot. What's your opinion?

    I made that poll just to judge the intelligence of most of the people around here, and let's just say I re-affirmed that our community is discerning, intelligent and thoughtful.

    Nothing wrong with spreading your love of a game, its when you spread the hate of all other games that I don't like. I have never bashed any game except Lineage 2 and its not really the game I dislike its the way people have abused it, and how the devs let them to an extent. And lets face it, Trolls just suck.

    Assuming that because someone loves a game they are one of the Dev's is COMPLETE B.S. and your just chasing ghosts there my friend. I could be Bill Gates and you just wouldn't be able to tell so best not to go there. And just because you love a game doesnt mean you have to slag the competition, that is an excersize in futility: the competition is just too vast now.

    Drama: don't start none, won't be none.

    IMO: People who complain about or trash a game but have never played it just because they happen to like something else.

    Gotta LOVE them folks.

    The only games I trash are:
    Horizons because they so totally changed their concept (which was awesome originally) :( I was so excited about that game when it was in development. The release was a huge let-down. I'm happy for those who enjoy it but I get sick of hearing them whine about the lack of players. (Hint: There's a reason the game lacks players)

    Lineage II (for obvious reasons)

    Oh... and well... everyone's favorite
    Dawn/Mourning... because it's a hoax.

    You forgot the option concerning the lazy, instant-gratification players ruining the essence of the genre by influencing development studios to slowly turn them into online arcades.

That's Drama. And I'm at work, I can only go so far from the computer before I get fired. And I use public transit to get home, so in about 2 hours I will "Step away from my computer and go outside." And I know there is a real world out there, but in here you better get your stuff straight before you come trolling in these waters, you will get called on it every time.

    I guess the point of that statement was lost on you, so I will clarify. You can't prove that I'm not Bill Gates any more than you can prove that someone who created a poll that you seemed to be referring to was one of the Dev's for said game. So delving into such matters is pure folly.

    For all the "knoweledge" you have about your precious game, it's sure obvious that you are a dev.  And I guess speaking with the irth irc would conclusively verify that you are not a dev, right?  That's because, you're on the other end of the irth irc playing dumb about your kishe identity.  But playing dumb isn't too much of a stretch if you are a dev of that game.

    Actually I can verify here and now Kishe is not a Dev. Neither am I. We are active members in the community however and the Devs in this game are very active in the community as well. Why would a person lie about being a dev? I could understand lieing to say you are when you aren't but the reverse? I just do not get this line of thinking.
