I come to this website not for the flame wars, but for information.  Unfortunately, some people seem to come for no other reason than to spread there own self loathing around.  So on with the NDA!

If you don't come for the flame wars, then explain your flaming post, You label anyone who dislikes the game as a troll with the maturity of a five year old. Not everyone is going to like this game.

Also, the opposite of your statement is also true. Everyone who is love (honeymoon time) with the game, will blindly praise the game, ignoring any faults.

As far as spreading self-loathing around, you seem to do a good job of that yourself.

Only 2 months folks. If you like it or not, it does not matter. It is just a game in the end.

So you either don't like the game or you are just blindly in love with it interesting.

If that is what you believe, fine by me. I however never made that statement. You could try harder to put words in my mouth, but hey, it still woud not be true.

Oh snap.  F that.  Keep things quiet, guys.  (Although I still would seriously like to know how they penalize you for voilating the NDA and how they enforce it.  Fines?  Permanent ban from the game?)

Normally its a boot from beta.  If you are too much trouble they can get a court injunction to desist and the court can jail you for contempt if you defy that.  I believe that there was 1 case where a person was banned from playing the game even after launch.

Regarding the NDA, I can live with or without the drop. I have been fortunate enough to get first hand experience to judge for myself. I always recomend trying something yourself. Every person has different wants and desires. If the NDA drop occurs, I will write up a gameplay experience mosty based on my thoughts on SWToR pvp with a little pve mixed in.

Yes I am sure young players will love a story based fully voiced MMO.. I am sure that is the market they are going for. Sigh this website make me wonder about the human species.

    Enjoy GW2!

But I gotta ask...how f**king old are you two?!

I'll enjoy SWTOR and I thought I was old. I know players 13-50 who will/do like it...so...how old are you two?

The trouble is, trolls don't necessarily say they're in beta, they just pop in, say they played the game, and start spewing nonsense that has little to no regard to actual fact.

At which point, someone who HAS/is played/playing beta pops in and calls them out on it, then THAT person gets flagged for the NDA violation.

LOL I got me a warning for that once, a year or so ago.  I try not to feed the trolls anymore.

What would it matter? It's only for the starter areas anyway, everyone has seen that, journalists can simply say a little more and show a little more than they could before. Besides if they can show it we can talk about it, or do people not understand that?

I really wish they would let me say what I want  other than I am in beta. But you see all those {mod edit}s ... plus I've gotten a few messages from the mods saying I've been a bad boy. LOL

Instead I will just have fun in beta!

Well we know the NDA is going to drop, because IGN has the following up on their site at the moment:

"Check back for more TOR information than a Wookiee has hair."

I think dropping the NDA is long overdue.  I don't think it will "ruin" the game in any way.  But I'm just sick and tired not being able to even mention topics to which anyone has ample access to already.  (Well at least if they know how to use a search engine.)

But more than just tired of the non-sense.  I'm weary of BioWare's lame attempts at secrecy.  It reflects poorly on the management of the company as a whole.  Anyone ratioinal should realize that Honesty is always going to be the best policy in these situations.  And you can't stop people from leaking information.  So if they aren't going to release information freely.  Then they shouldn't accept any interviews and/or say anything at all about their game.

What I'm talking about is when there is a discrepancy between what they are saying, at panels like this one, and what we hear, or know, from beta.  It completely undermines their credibility.  And when they go on these petty campaigns to purge all information remotely covered by the NDA, even from sites like MMORPG.com, they make themselves look like total jerks.  Like little children on a rampage.

Think about it for a moment.  They aren't giving beta access to those who've preordered. (Though we know many expect it - and I'm not arguing for, or against, it).  They announce beta, but only for weekends, and only for "1 Weekend".  Then after the first weekend they put it on hold for a while and decide to "reinvite those invited for the first weekend".  (All of which is pretty frustrating for allot of people...)

So, lets say I've been invited (which I never have!).  I know that all I'm going to get is one weekend.  But after that what reason do I have to keep the NDA?  I got nothing out of my weekend except some fun... maybe.  I know I'm not getting a second chance.  Why should I care what they want?  I'm just on hold till they announce Early Access (If I've preordered).

And this is Especially true when I've now decided that SWTOR is NOT a game I want to buy and play any longer...

What I'm saying is that they didn't think this whole thing through very well.  They can get regular beta testers to comply because they want to keep playing.  (Notice I said "playing" not testing.)  But they have no leverage on the weekend "Players".  So they are stupid if they think all of them are going to honor the NDA.

Besides all this is the fact that their time to decide WTF is going to be in the game at release is OVER!!  If they don't finalize things, and get ready to ship, then they better announce a Delay in the Release Date.

I'd suspect that they ban you from the beta, without a doubt.  And I believe they do have some legal avenues.  They can sue you for damags, and If they can provide evidence that your leak damaged their profitability in some way, they may be successful.

They may even have legal recourse for websites like this one.  If I post a pic on this website from build X where a Development Lead decided to mandate Jar Jar as your only companion(yes, I just completely made that up and it has no basis in fact.), then they may have grounds to not only go after me, but the site, as well.  Particularly if they can prove moderator negligence.

You are 100% correct except for the website part.  I am not really sure what the laws are now. Before though a website such as this one wasnt legally bound by an NDA unless they released the info themselves, from one of there staff having signed the NDA to play the beta. But if you or I where to post info and they had not signed anything then as I said, they where not legally bound to the NDA. That may have changed but most websites such as this one always play nice when it comes to NDAs. If they dont they stop getting press type access to stuff. Companies generally dont like/cooperate with websites who dont respect there NDA's.
