"RPG that you’ve come to know and love from BioWare, set in the KOTOR timeline and with pitch-perfect MMORPG elements, then you’re probably going to be really happy with The Old Republic. Questing really never will be the same." This is the best reason to buy the game.
p.s. Mike and Bill ... can you tell us which one of all of you had the hardest time to stop with playing so far? Or did the beta adventure continue for you guys?
Mike probably the most, but I think all four of us got really pretty addicted. I forced myself to stop, so I don't ruin things too much. But it's a very arduous task. Being on my way to Blizzcon helps. It's all about the story... It really grabs you.

I like fun. I look at this game and see yet another MMO game that just doesn't feel like Star Wars to me. Trying to remember all the gadgets used in the movies since it is said that I must not like Star Wars. Trying to remember in anything I read about people spraying a cloud of bacta to keep people fighting. Guess I am just so lost.
I wanted to read through and see if anything appealed to me since this is only class that did but still saw nothing. This is a game that might be the greatest but will never see me. The story might be nice but it looks like most other MMOs out there except it has a Star Wars skin. I guess I expected more than just story advancements when I thought of Star Wars.
I'm sorry you don't think you will like it. If you actually played it though, I bet you would feel otherwise. Especially if you are in fact a Star Wars fan...
It really is that good.
I am glad that you believe that. I will not fault anyone for liking it or thinking it is the best. I look at it and read and see nothing that appeals to me enough to pay for. The Secret World and Guild Wars 2 have things that interest me. TERA has some concepts that appeal to me. SWtOR gameplay ruins any chance that I want to see the story. I don't want to pay for that story.
I would not have commented if the writer had said that must not like Star Wars if don't get sucked in by the story. I am sorry but the gameplay is part of the story. The movies show how many of the fights were crucial to the story. Are those parts scripted out as welll? I will admit that the written story parts are likely some of the best ever done but what about the play parts? That is where the story is a let down to me.

Classes are NOT gender locked. Every class can be played as a male or a female. You are omnly limited by race/species. Smuggler can be Human and Mirialan, Ithink Twilek and one other.
