I am just saying that since we have gnomes.. that have a grand total of 2 units (both machines) in WC2 and are by large a "joke" race to be OK but saying that Pandarians that have 1 unit in WC3 and is by large a "joke" race is the doom and undoing of WoW is perhaps a bit slanted towards nostalgia and conservatism on part of the complainers.
When I played WC3:TFT, my most love character was Chen Stormstout.
When I heard WoW was coming, I said "I want to play a Pandaren Monk!"
It didn't happen.
Now, 7 years later they will make a whole expansion based on them....
Hmmm.... I cancelled my sub some 7 months ago, but I always said "If anything will make me come back to WoW, it will be the Pandas. At least to give them a try. "
So, am I going to try it?
Yes.
Will it be good?
I have no idea.
On the mean time, I will be on a galaxy far... far away...
It's free to play until lvl 20 now, maybe you will be able to try it without a sub...
The "F2P" trial doesn't apply to expansions, so most likely you can't, just like today you can't (at least as of last time I tried it) create blood elves, draenei, worgen or goblin chars.
Guess I'm just goofy but I have no problem with the Panda race. If I start playing WoW regularly again I'd play one. I actually am one of the few..i imagine..... that wanted them to add some of the races from WOTLK. The walrus race...those Bison versions of Tauren (thought those were cool) and especially Wolvar...but we got Worgen for alliance. Hey How about Wolvar for Horde?
I've been playing WOW on and off since launch. I always bought the expansion to see what was new, experience the new content, class, areas, etc. This time however i dont see myself buying that expansion, the idea of a kungfu panda is just plain ridiculous. What will they come up with next ? Ninja Turtle ? Power Rangers ?
Keep in mind kung fu panda copied wow, not the other way around. It was in the wow lore long before the movie was made.
There is absolutely no value in this. Cataclysm was the beginning of the end of the enjoyment of WoW. I have been playing since day one, and after the letdown of Cata and now this, I know I am making the right decision waiting for GuildWars 2.
I think the idea of having a gnome monk would be hilarious ...and fun to watch move.
C'mon people, what's the big deal? There's nothing remotely sinister looking in the game. The undead look corny and not at all scary. Even the Lich King looks like a 1st generation cylon (80s style).

Usually when you don't play for a while, they give you free time to come back. Not sure if they always let you try the latest expansion, but I was able to play cata free for 15 days and I only had up wotlk. I also had the time soon after the expansion came out (if not right away, can't remember).
Probably what I will do this time. Try the latest expansion for 15 days and quit again because 15 days is more than enough of WoW for me, lol. Maxed out a worgen quite easily last time.
The Pandaren existed before Kung Fu Panda. Why all this hate for that race? If I had to guess I'd say a lot of the hate is bandwagon crap.
That has nothing to do with it.
The fact of the matter is this: If I wanted to get my mom to play, I would show her the Panda race.
You people sure do whine a lot. I've wanted Blizzard to give me the ability to be a Pandaren Brewmaster since vanilla. I left because they never add anything interesting, just more raids and shit we've already seen.
Pandas look pretty interesting compared to the last four races released.
While I do not have any hate for WoW the only thing that keeps coming to mind is Fonzy jumping a pool with a shark in it on his motorcycle. Really, I just can't wrap my head around the whole idea.
What a joke, can't believe folks are buying into this nonsense. A panda lol
What a joke....I cannot believe people rather post about games they hate and have no intention of playing and not make constructive posts about the ones they like.
Ah the age old cop-out of "you don't have any plans of playing, so why are you posting?"
The thread is about an article about an article about first impressions of the Pandaren Monk addition to WoW. Posters are adding their own first impressions. Suprise, not everyone is thrilled.
Some of the people posting may not plan on playing WoW's next expansion, but that doesn't invalidate their opinion as to what they think. Who knows, maybe their reaction to the latest expansion is the reason they don't plan on playing the next WoW expansion.
Personally, I use to play WoW, and I use to love it. The game going ultra-casual and the storyline and themes going from serious with a few jokes, to one giant run goofy and tasteless jokes, is what drove me away from the game. My reaction to Pandaren Monks is that it's something that will for sure prevent me from coming back to WoW, after having played through every expansion up to and including the first raid tier of Cataclysm.
Kind of hard to find this website, so it's understandable why people are having a hard time learning what is in MoP, but it is the official website of Mist of Pandaria. The monk they show is a human

Whatever thought I had about coming to WoW was utterly crushed with a cute panda race as the centerpiece of the next expansion. At this point, not only would I not come back to WoW, I am going to deny I EVER played this game.
World of Warcraft? I think not. Perhaps Wimps of Womencraft? Weirdos of Wimpcraft? Women of Wrongnesscraft?
If you play this expansion and you are not a 13 year old girl, you need professional help.
I'm so sorry for my friends in game, and my guild mates, and all the hardworking Blizzard employees who had nothing to do with this awful decision, but need to swallow their pride and get through it.
I'm still waiting for a necromancer hero class that should've been included with WotLK. not everyone wants to play melee tank/dps...Monk is just another incarnation of melee tank/dps...magic users are left wanting something more while all new classes get to be melee tank/dps. I figured the next class would be a mage, and Necromancer has always fit into the game, I mean 1/4 of the frozen throne for WC3 was following a necromancer around
...I've been saying this since Blizzard announced TBC (it was thought that Pandarens were coming at one point in TBC), expansions with new classes need to have a class for everyone. WotLk only released a melee tank/dps. As far as I can tell, Almost noone is level 85 DK, you never see them. However, you see at least 50 mages, 50 warlocks, 100 priests, if you walk around in any major city.
DK was a failure (doesn't help that they've nerfed them into oblivion), Necromancer would've been much better excepted, and could've easily been added into the game along with the DK using almost the exact same questline and area that DK used, big mess up imo.
Now with Monk, Blizzard is doing the exact same thing. They're only releasing 1 class, another melee tank/dps with healing capability. We already have this, it's called a Druid. And the Sha system sounds familiar, from what I've heard it's just a tweaked version of the DK's Runic Power and Rune system, mixed in with the Druid's eclipse system. I would easily buy any expansion for WoW if I could get a mage class that I haven't leveled all the way up already...There hasn't been a new mage class since November 23, 2004...way too long and it's overdue!

I agree, it sucks for ranged, however at the same time as someone who only plays Melee classes... I'm excited for Monk.
I do wish you ranged lovers got some new classes. Necromancer is too much like Warlock I think though...
I'm suprised more folks aren't pissed its not Demon hunter.

This have been a good conversation

What can men do against such reckless hate?
Kung Fu Pandas? Can you smell the desperation?
I'm looking forward to trying a Monk. The announcement of this expansion has renewed my interest in WoW
Aiiiiiii Aweeeeee weeeeeeee yayayiyiyiyiyiyiy oooooohchopsueywheeeee

Tribes 2 is back!!!! http://www.tribesnext.com/
And from the makers of tribes: Fallen Empire: Legions http://www.instantaction.com/
I don't have a problem with the Pandas' but I have a feeling they will be the quick targets in battlegrounds.

I havent seen anywhere if i can be a human monk, anyone hear if its just the Pandarens only?
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

Every race except goblins and worgen can be a monk.

I originally thought this was an April Fool's joke...shows how great of an idea this is.
It's Kung-Fu Panda.

I am sorry but this is just too silly. WoW have alot of comical relief but this is over the top...
