Quick heads up

Played Aion right at 2.0 when they got rid of rift pvp, which is essentially the only low level pvp.

Tried it out again, it's still a big downer for me. Leveling up still takes forever, and I'm not interested in grinding out to 30-40+ just to try out pvp which I'm not even sure if I'll like or not.

Game is awesome, but grind is too heavy and not enough pvp at the lower levels. Plus they really need to make it easier to find PVE groups. Hate hate hate sitting in chat channels trying to fill up a group.

I am currently leveling my 41 ranger, and I don't know why is Virindi1 says the leveling takes forever! Even with all the increase xp in quests ? Let's just not say the increase xp in Campaign quest !

Hence, I agree that there is not enough pvp at lower levels but the game is far from being a heavy grind!

I don't know if you guys work for Aion or what, but I was getting way more exp just grinding mobs than actually doing the quests.

I assume this post is meant to be a joke. Aion's leveling curve is on par with WoW's now. Aion's LFG tool is one of the best in the genre (I have all global chat channels turned off).

    Jesus man.

I play just 2h per day and its soooooooo easy to get lvl.

I think you are playing the wrong game, not Aion.

I think its almost "impossible" to complete all quests in this game ! There's a lot !

So, i recommend you to read a guide before play.

Leveling in Aion is alot better than what it was. I still keep my stance that there is no PVP in Aion unless someone calls 1-2 shotting people pvp.

Whoa, ok what's up with low lvl pvp?   I'm quite interested.    I'm at work right now, so I doubt the webfilter will let me through to the aion site to read patch notes or anything, and tbh, i wouldn't know which patches to read.     I quit aion about 6 months after launch because of the grind and the abyssal gankfests...

    So:

    Did 2.0 launch?

    What changed about the abyss?

What changed about the "rifts' that open up?

Are the wings still 'stupidomfggtfo' useless?

Is every other player still a BOT?

Will it still take two weeks to gain 1 level post 40?

Lets see. All day i am working. Then I return to home. I can play max 1 hour per day. How many time i need to be 50 in Aion?

    a. 1 month

    b. forever

Guess what! it's not a, or a*2, or even a*3.

Lets say now you love pvp. Do you really have to grind you XXX to enjoy a good pvp?

LFG? Lets say for NTC? Come onnnnn! Do you really believe in miracles?

I return in AION 2 months before and i managed to play for 2,5 weeks. I dont need a game that tells me what I "need" to do. You need to do PVE for a couple of months, you need to grind then for a proper gear , and finally grind your PVP to "enjoy" PVP.

Been there done that and never back again

not sure I understood what you're saying, but if I had to guess, I'd say you are like me and can't be bothered by a game that doesn't open up fun until the end of progression (leveling) yet, with your low amount of available play time, can't fathom ever actually reaching that point?

I'm a vet mmorpg player, and I did love the 'old days' where it took a very LONG time to reach level cap.   The difference between now and then as far as the games go, is that content wasn't "saved" for capped level characters back then, so there was no good reason to rush up to the cap.   People just enjoyed the journey.     Aion, on the otherhand, felt like I was never going to reach cap, and at the same time, didn't offer me any real reason to enjoy NOT being at the cap.   Saved content.   Saved PVP incentives.   Saved character customization.     So.... I get it.   Aion is/was just like WoW in the sense that "the real game is at the end once you cap out" --- so, why make me take so long to get to each level????

    Dude, my sentiments exactly.

Why does Aion want me to grind for months until I can finally pvp? Makes no sense.

Totally agree both with gimmesome , virindi1. The word "game" in my mind comes with the words fun, enjoy, competition, community and many more , but not with the words must, work, labor .

In conclusion i want after my work  to be able to level up, pvp, raid, gear up and things that can be fun in just an hour. Check many titles from the market Warhammer, Rift, even todays wow, swtor also i think. They all turning to casual gamers needs.

In my opinion NCsoft is slowing down the whole proccess in order to get more subs, more months. But if you think more deeply, the time you need to get form 40 to 50, if its 1 week or 2 years, its just a developer multiplier (variable) that its set to 2 years. After 2 years , and since all the Aion population has reached level cap, they need new blood. Solution? Lower the multiplier until we get the needed new subs. They are just playing with our needs to have fun.

So if i will return ever again to Aion it will be on my rules, and when it will be fun for me, and not for them.

what the hell are u guys talkin about?

u can get to max lvl just in a few weeks and the pvp gear also just in a few weeks (thanks to the new 2.7 instances).  2-3h/day by just doin inis or qs is more then enough for that.

so either u are just trolling or u are talking about the game before the 2.0 (we have now 2.7;) ) patch.

True, exping in Aion is easy as crap these days. The real grind gonna be the months/years you grind for your gear. That grind is all RNG based and if you don't have luck you will spend many months with failing to enchant/socket your gear because it's not just very likely that you won't get anything usefull from instance runs but you also can't do another one until the cool down for that instance is gone.

Take for example Storm Wing, a boss that gives a decent pve set. I've been doing him nearly every day for 2 months. The result was a single gear piece. 5 to go means another 10 months - and that only if I don't take into account that the gear part dropped during double drop chance event. If I would take that into account it would be around 20 months.

After that time you start to enchant your gear and socket it with mana stones. Socketing chance is low and if you fail one socket, all items disapear. Some people spend billions on socketing and never got anything done. There was a way to get your set socketed by paying NcSoft over $100 but the "event" is over for now. It likely will come back, so if you can't spend the 1000s of hours to beat the random number generator, your credit card will be able to make you strong.

At least there's a way to get pvp gear without too much effort. The new PVP arena won't be a place where you got fun before you gear up but it offers PVE that gives more rewards then PVP and even if you loose you get 40% of what the winner usually gets. Thus lots of ppl just AFK in pvp arena or go PVE not caring about others attacking them. AFK/PVE the PVP arena for 2 months and you got a set. Ofc you need to socket/enchant that one, too.
