Love it or hate it the facts are Mists of Pandaria has caused a huge amount of negativity on the internet . In the event the expansion underperforms in terms of units sold should Greg Street be fired from his job as lead systems designer of World of Warcraft .

Is he responsible for this idea. Nevermind what was I thinking ? Hang him now !
Yes hang him till he is dead dead, he has made the wow killer, finaly its comming soon...MOP
Gather the pitchforks guys it's lynching time.

Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress.
Im wondering if the amount of losses in the EU NA market will be made up for in the Asian market. As a person thats spent some time there, they love te hell out of pandas!

It sounds more like the idea of some corporate buracrat instead of a video game designer. I find it hard to believe that there wasn't one dissenting voice on the WoW team.
I can't imagine a bunch of adults sitting around a table saying; " This is going to be so cool! Pandas!"
Given the size of the market, it wouldn't surprise me if they broke the 12 million milestone with it.
I disagree. I don't think a persons career and lively hood should be threatened over something like this. If it fails, it fails but lets be honest here, MOST (Not all so calm down and I also don't care about how many of your WoW playing friends said they're going to quit, they don't represent the majority) of the people coming down on the games new expansion already do not like the game anyway.
Of the millions that play, yeah a good number will scoff at it but continue to play anyway and a smaller number will quit. But others will start and even more will return to try it out.
The game has always been a bit weird and wonderful so it doesn't surprise me that they have decided to add Pandas as a playable race. Whether you say its part of the lore or not, people were complaining already about how child friendly (dumb down) the game has become, then they go ahead and dumb down the talent system even more and add big cuddly pandas.
And for those who say that talent system is there to stop everyone having the same build... you know full well everyone will be running around with the same talents and then its back down to who has the best gear. Nothing will ever change.
@OP
No one should be sacked. Sure, MoP will cause people to quit the game, but it will also attract a lot of players, majority children and asian, but its still a subscription in Blizzards eyes. So, I voted No, from a business point of view.

I'm sorry did it launch and cause massive sub cancellations already?
Ghost crawler should have been sacked years ago, when he would always say that warrior were wroking as intended in T6 content and his own warrior was revealed to be level 29....
Everyone is just now leaveing WOW? I thought everyone was going to leave when engineers gained the knowledge to tinker helicoptors. And any that didnt left because of dungeon finder. And then the ones that were left were all leaving due to Cata. So now everyone is really leaveing again?
Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.
That's like saying should you be sacked if this poll failed to garner 500 votes before the voting starts. Some people would say yes simply because they'd hate seeing another WoW related topic pop up (like those that don't play WoW and would respond negatively toward MoP whenever they can) and those that would vote based on the substance of your topic (which by the way reeks of negative bias which is based entirely on the reaction of people on this site)
No my friend I'll wait and see if MoP out sells CATA, which was another expansion bashed by this community and actually sold quite well and had rave reviews, then I'll have a opinion about Ghostcrawler. But it won't be as harsh as trying to can the man for trying to steer a elephant on roller skates on a ice rink with your bare hands. That's just how impossible his job is...

Very difficult to say .The only thing we can go on at present is Blizzard felt like it needed to make an anouncement that this expansion wasn't a joke which is pretty unpresidented for any expansion in the history of mmorpgs . Can anyone else recall something like that happening before ? Logically it suggests there either have been very large numbers of cancelations or its a responce to the storm of criticsm its caused . Not only on this site but all over the web . ( and I gather in the WoW forums themselves if some comments in these forums are to be believed ) . It probably is a mix of the two .
It also begs the question at what point would MOP be considered to be a faliure ? Half the sales of the last expansion maybe ? still pretty profitable yes but it would be cause for concern and raise questions about Gregg Streets abilitys and his fitness to do his job amongst the share holders .
Personally I think sales will be well down on Cataclysm but I think theres enough people so invested in WoW that there will be some degree of success but maybe not enough to keep Ghostcrawler safe in his position .
I think he will have to step down before the end of 2012 .
Only on this site sir, and it's hardly huge. It's nothing more than another reason for folks to WHINE about. This keeps people interested in the game regardless if they play it or not. Just look at how many haters and quitters that keep posting.
Anyways continue the bitch session.
I know this might sound like a shocker but I bet there's others like me out there. I actually haven't played WoW since '06 and MoP is the 1st expansion that has me thinking about going back. I'd love to see Asian themed areas of Azeroth and check out the new class.

This has to be the worst decision by blizzard ever. If I were 12 I would love it but I am not so they can keep it lol.
Sales
Cataclysm sold more than 3.3 million copies in the first 24 hours of its release including digital presales, and 4.7 million copies in its first month of release.[26][27][28] It holds the distinction as the fastest selling PC game, overtaking the former holder World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King which sold 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours.[27] It also holds the record for the most number of copies sold for a PC game in the first month.[28] In the UK, the game placed 3rd on the "Top 10 Entertainment Software (All Prices); Week Ending December 11, 2010" behind Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision) and FIFA 11 (EA Games).[29]
WTF you talking about Wllis?
Yes and to add to that, everyone that screams the loudest over it are automatically the majority because they made the loudest scream right?
On topic, it's none of our business and this sort of poll is in really bad taste.
Off topic, Paradigm68, awesome avatar there. Blade Runner all the way.
Gasp! I want one.
If he can survive the Cata mess when the exit doors started revolving, then Kungfu Panda's shouldn't be too much of an issue for his Blizzard paycheck.
He obviously has the backing of the board to continue with this strategy. It seems pretty obvious that they have identified the far eastern market as their growth strategy - business in business and knowing the asian love of mmos, this seems a pretty good move.
It will disappoint some people, but since when have wow changes pleased everyone?
Judge's verdict - everybody was Kungfu fighting, those Pandas fast as lightning.......
Great summation of the internet.
On topic: On the poll I answered "no." I don't ever wish anyone's job away. That's one of those kinds of things where karma could come back and teach you a lesson.
