I really liked the Dunham one - There must be love for mesmers inside Anet still :)

And of course, the Owl exterminator. Hehehe.

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!

U know what would have been cool as a costume?

A guy dressed as a big version of the released game BOX.

i just see lost time and "fillers". I don't care so much about their holloween or any other "fillers" as i would about some real news about the game and how development is going.

For me this news represents a 2-3 day delay of the release. Going 1 month without any news, then the first news in some time to be "holloween" themed, i find it disrespectfull. I guess that's what they did since gamescom till now right?

I can understand why some are anxious for release info. There still is nothing "disrespectful" of a developer for not releasing info every month when we still don't have even an estimate release date. If anything, Anet has been more liberal with gameplay at conventions and pre release info than most companies.

They've been liberal with the same news for 1 year. They didn't add anything new for 1 year except a pvp function that runs 80% as any other pvp from what they'v shone.

Disrespectfull is knowing the community (witch is overglorifying this game for free) is waiting for any type of news on the game and yet they post holloweens and sound stuff or whatever... "episode fillers" nothing more.

I find Blizzard to be more liberal with information with their trademark "soon" really.

If they can't provide a release date then they should atleast say "ok we finished PVP, we are adding this..the final class is that...here's a new dungeon"...long story short i want to see that they did anything on the game since gamescom. Till now there's no proof on that.

If u want information u don't have to ask it..u have to demand it, otherwise u will have 1year old information repeated over and over, or just "here's a pritty picture with us".

That is just bs. They showed enough over the past year. Just look at their news archive. Really.. some people.

And tell me what part of what they shown this year wasn't already know. Practically this year they showed actual video of what they told us last year. Nothing new in there.

Lack of information = big news coming soon

Exagerating with Lack of Information = fail

Tired of waiting for a game that will never get finished

    @nadrian3k

I'm confused, do you want information about the game or do you want progress on the game?

You view this halloween photo shoot that probably took 1/8th of their employees a half hour as this massive 2-3 day work flow stoppage, yet you're fine with their attending Gamescom (and Pax)?  Think about the work flow stoppage coming from lead designers standing around asking questions for a week and a half, not to mention having to create demos, a trailer, plan a booth, the 100 people sitting around playing the game to give it a sense of population...

We could also consider the idea that rewarding their employees' creativity with a photo shoot might actually result in a better game.

I see now, you don't want information. You want specific information and updates on which parts of the game are done. Those "fillers" like "sound stuff" and "lore" are all very important parts of the game. They don't need to prove they've been working on the game during and after gamescon. You're a little too upset about this.

My suggestion is to lay off the GW2 news for a little while. It's too easy to overhype yourself for this game. That still doesn't warrant calling them disrespectful.

Better than Blizzards "soon"? Don't get me started.

I got more information about Diablo and HoTS in 1 year then i saw from Guildwars in 2 years..so yea...

I honestly don't know what your problem is.  The game will be the same game whether they tell us about it or not.  Any information they do tell us is a courtesy.  ArenaNet doesn't answer to you.  Demand information all you want, but what will you do if you don't get it?  Hitting them where it hurts by not buying a box?  Or are you going to buy it anyway?  If you are going to buy it, then you have absolutely no leverage (not that you had much).

There's been 93 posts in their blog for the past year, an average of almost 2 per week, not to mention all the information we learn at conventions.

    Here's a post from last November.  http://www.arena.net/blog/when-its-ready#more-3596

Here's a quote from that.  We’re in a little bit of a lull information-wise as the holidays approach and we put our heads down to make progress on the development of the game, but rest assured the information will flow again

God forgive people for not being at work 24/7?  There is a slight chance that those people put their costumes together on their off time.

For me this represents a 15min delay while everyone gathered for a group photo to show off their costumes.. on holloween.  I think you can wait an extra 15min for GW2.

Now I know you are just trolling. I was only semi thinking you where earlier on. But saying more info about D3 in a year than GW2 in the last 2 years? LOL.

You cant seriously think this haloween thing stopped development for 2-3 days. Well maybe you do believe that in which case there is absolutly no help for you. Either way please stop acting like Anet owes you ANYTHING. Last I checked they havent asked for any money yet.  If you dont understand what that means it means you havent payed for anything which means you have no right to EXPECT anything. Want yes, expect no.

As to the costumes some of them where pretty good. Nothing spectacular but more effort than what we had at work.

Never expected anything any news from ANet, i am just fed up with hearing how they brag about loosing time with either holloweens or making pictures for national geographic or winning awards for nonexisting games. That's not something to brag about when there's such a large lack of information related to what ppl actually care about (the actual game). It just pisses people off.

Also repeating the same information over and over again, doesn't make it new information (over the last 1 year) so in that regard yes i defently got atleast new information, that i would have never guessed from Blizzard on D3. If u are that blind, please apply the same rulle u tell me to apply to ANet's case...go check everything blizzard posted this year.

As for the game i don't really care..i am waiting for the final version..but i do care about how they treet certain situations.  Anyway.....u americans have your mentality towards how businesses should work..europeans have another mentality. glhfgg. Hope they put up more pictures of santa ...more national geographics images...and so on so u ppl can feel confortable with the state of game development.

@Cali59 who was actually the only one to post something usefull rather then the rest of u, i am eeger to wait what information they will give us in the upcoming months, that line i didn't read i admit, but it better be something big...not some santa costumes, otherwise, me, as a potential customer that was constantly fed "hype" by ANet will be very dissapointed and question their abilities to achieve what they are targeting for.
