I think this image explains just how ridiculous the negative Pandaren reaction is.

If I want to exaggerate, I would say that the only people complaining about the expansion are either teenagers or "adult" teenagers. In other words: people who still are in the teenage state of mind of what is "cool" and what isn't.

Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
It doesn't take the mentality of a Teen to see that Pandas are childish.
What is not "cool" is that Pandarins were created as a joke. That is the problem here. It's the "children" that play WoW that said "aww cute, a Panda race! I want that pwease Mommy!" The "adults" that play WoW don't want their game any more childish than it already is.
BTW I don't play WoW. I find the whole game from the piss-poor graphics down to be childish. But I can see where the adult population playing would not like the Pandas.

It's not the pandas. really it's not. but the WOW players who see this expansion as the complete dumbing down of WOW to appease a new demogrphic. at least that what i have gathered from all the people who are not just saying it's becuase of the panda's.
I'm an ex WOW player now so i see outside the box sometimes.

Fact is people are just tired of blizzard not having any sense of the game they have created an empire on. I assuming big here, but they wanted it more complex and darker? yeah not sure on that hehe pandas seem fine though in truth.
None of this matters to me i have moved on years ago. but my kids are playing now, and even though i had fun zinging WOW players about pandas. i really hope blizz continues to make the game more geared for 5 year old and up. not being sarcastic or making fun of people. but it needs to go fully free to play and my pocket book would thank them since my kids are sharing an account right now. it's becoming a nice family game. they just need to get rid of the jerks and put more filters in for language.
Weak assumption, I never said the game is not "childish" because it is, it always has been. The point is this does not make it "more" childish it just continues the theme. Simply put SNAFU.
My personal opinion is that those who want the Warcraft Universe to be more "mature" are setting themselves up for disappointment as the game never took itself seriously outside of the books. I believe these people are just using the Pandaren as something to focus their angst on.

Trying to use common sense and logic in these forums Unshra, even though you are 100% correct, is completely pointless... You made the point perfectly, but arguing it with most of the people on these forums is not going to get anywhere.

For myself, the addition of Pandamen is simply content that I will not use. Since I will not use this content this lowers the value of MoP for myself. I think quite a few people feel this way. I do like the no auto attacking monk thou. So the monk class raises the value of MoP.
However, the final dumbing down of the talent trees by GC & Co is what is really putting me off of MoP. The dumbing down of talent trees is the deal breaker for myself. For most people there needs to be value before they spend money.
So you don't play WoW, yet you know what WoW players want. Not only that but you know what they want based on their demographic. Forgive me if I don't take what you seem to state as fact at face value.

Slightly off topic, I expect and accept that the addition of the Pandaren is shocking much like the discovery of the Eastern culture was shocking to those of the Western culture (I am sure there were people from both sides saying the other did not belong in "their" world). If anything this shock just might add to the game from an role-playing perspective.

Panada people aren't any more childish than the rest of WoW's anthromorphized races.
Kung-fu Panada people who have a culture composed of a mish-mash of various different asian stereo-types however, are.
Besides it's not just Pandaren, it's the Pokeman battle system and further dumbing down fo the game that a lot of people are just shaking their heads at. Pandaren just became the poster child of what people see as being wrong with the expansion.
Please don't create multiple threads to discuss the Pandaren. We have a stickied thread up top for reactions/opinions, and a couple of threads with varying subjects created the same day of the announcement.
