I never been much of a fan of PvP games, hell I rarely play them, but I think im going to get into this on. My beloved hopes of seeing FFXIV turn into an XI-2 are fadeing fast. It seems to be turning into FFWoW eddition.

Some of the things that would turn me away from this would be:

Player looting. It would be ok in some form but if a max level character came and killed my noob self just to loot what gear i had knowing he has no need for it, i think id just uninstall the game immediatly. Thats not PvP thats greiving. I can somewhat understand looting if it people of same level fighting.

No PvE at all, I do need some PvE, and imo the game needs it to keep players interested in doing something so they wont get to bored and decide to go gank lowbies.

Im definatly keeping an eye on this game to decide if i should take the plunge or not, but all I do know is I dont see any other game on the horizion thats not going to be an instant gratifaction p.o.s of an MMO. I want an mmo to put time, effort and dedication in to get somewhere.

btw i know you guys could care less what I do, im just bored atm.

I believe they said there isnt going to be looting from pvp, at least not full loot. maybe partial loot where you drop some of whats in your inventory. as far as pve is concerned, from the last interview on massively I get the impression that while there will be raids you wont have to actually do them to obtain the gear that is associated with the raid since for the most part it looks like bosses will drop mats that are crafted into gear. I like this idea since it allows me to raid if I feel like it but i can still get the gear even if i dont feel like raiding.

Judging from my previous experience in Lineage2, you will probably drop things (either from inventory, or armor you wear) when you are killed while you have "bad karma" (i.e. pk-ing low level players). This worked great in L2, and they will probably go the same way here.

I think Jake Song will go the route of Ultima Online and add insurance you can buy for certain items in your inventory. But remember that you can not insure stackable items, only single items can be insured so if you are out gathering mats such as wood and ore you will drop them all apon death.

    Item Insurance

For 600 gold (per each item you wish to insure), your equipment can be insured against death. When you die, all of your insured items remain with your ghost. When you return to life, your insured items will return with you. Each time you die, you will need to renew the insurance on your items. Stackable items will not be able to be insured. The cost of insuring your items is taken out of your bank account the moment you choose the option to insure an item.

    Auto Insurance

Players also have the option of auto-insuring their items upon death, by opening the Context Sensitive Menu (single left-click by default) on their avatar. you can then choose to have all of your items auto-insured, so that you don't have to re-insure each item when you die. With auto-insurance, any item that you had previously insured will be re-insured upon resurrection (assuming you have the funds). It's important to note that when your items are auto-insured, gold is taken out of your bank account upon death. This is because when you die, the auto-insurance system kicks in and re-insures your items.

    PvP and Insurance

If you are killed in PvP combat, your "auto renew item insurance" will be charged at a reduced rate, which will be one half of the normal pricing (300gp per item).

Also, one-half of whatever you paid to insure your items will go into the bank box of the person who struck the killing blow. This is true whether you have auto insure turned on or not.

I like some of the ideas of past game like uo and L2. I just hope they try to re-use some of those ideas.

Archeage is pretty much Linage 2 brought to modern times.

Which is great since I loved Lineage 2. :)

If this game is able to capture the great parts of L2 I will be on board. Other than the fact that it took an insane amount of time to level, L2 was one of the most amazing games ever. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want the opposite where you can max level in a month of even in 3-4 months but anyone who played L2 knows it had one of the most intense leveling curves out there.

1-60 was easy... after that... not as much.

At 61 it was like they turned off the experience. For me anyway lol. I got 1-60 in less than a month. 1-40 twice as fast as I could in WoW (since you can't really go at your own pace...and level at one spot... your at the pace of the quests and travel).

This looks like the game I'v been waiting for, an alternate life, I played UO for 7 years, with alot of friends and family, and about everything since then, and nothing has touched it, but this looks close, how I miss those old pretrammel Experiences, like stories told around the camp fire... that was a real game...

well 1-60 in a month seems ok. still to fast if you ask me but its better then 1-60 in a week like Rift.

i think this game will let you waist a nice amount of time exploring and just taking in what the game has to offer.

and with all the different areas to start from your leveling experance could be differant every time you make an alt.

im very excited for this game and i hope XLGames takes there time and does this one right.
