I don't know if this makes any sense to you, but I cannot understand why underaged people (meaning under the age of 18) without a credit card don't play GW. Many of those peoples' parents won't buy pay the subscription fees for paying games, so why not save $50 dollars and buy GW? Almost any kid has $50 dollars these days, so I don't understand why there are still these type of people playing free games. Can someone explain that?

lol... everybody has 50$? Where do you live rich boy?!
being sarcastic but honestly not everyone has 50$ nowadays.
Many kids get allowance or just don't eat and save your lunch money. Must...have...game...must...have...game... Lol. You see my point though. $50 dollars is feasible.
Um
I hate to break this to you.
But a very large number of the kids playing GW are under 18.

you know, it's topics like this that should make you wonder why World of Warcraft attracts so many kids, requires a credit card, but they still play it rather than Guild Wars.
Sorry but I don't consider a game worth playing if you can reach level 20 within 7 days, and the only "content" is PVP and we won't be seeing an expansion before 2006!
Maybe that's why they are playing World of Warcraft?

Stealth - Ambush - Hemorrhage - Sinister Strike x2 - Cold Blood - Eviscerate - Vanish - Preparation - Cold Blood - Ambush - ... you're dead! :P
I was referring to the people whose parents would not pay for a monthly subscription. GW can be bougth at many stores, and therefore does not require a credit card.
Err... because it's not an MMO
And it's a fairly lousy CORPG as well.
I like PVP as much as the next person but a game with nothing but PVP as the 'content' just isn't fun. If they wanted to make it pure PVP they should have nixed the entire PVE game altogether and just given xp for killing other players.
Pure PVP is ok as a 'break' from other things. But it will never hold many folks attention for long stretches at a time. Some people will but the vast majority want more than just PVP to fill their gametime with.

I've yet to play Guild Wars (non-beta), but I'm going to assume that all of the eight year olds are playing World of Warcraft? I know they sure as hell are on my server.
I kind of agree that I don't really understand the OP. There *are* a lot of young folks who play GW, probably more than in most games, at least in my experience in GW. Moreso than WoW even, probably precisely because there is no monthly fee.
As to why there are more young folks who play WoW as compared with other MMORPGs I think it's because of (1) the lure of Blizzard (and these folks having played Warcraft or Diablo before) and (2) the fact that WoW is an incredibly simple, accessible MMORPG as compared with virtually any other MMORPG out there. I think it's due to both of those reasons that WoW has a younger playerbase (or at least a higher proportion of young people in its playerbase) than other games like EQ2, SWG, EVE, take your pick. I do think, however, that a lot of young people play GW.
What do you mean why don't underaged people play GW? Because of the retail price? Hell, you can download some mmos online for FREE. Why don't all the "kiddies" play those? Also, there is a way to get around paying for a mmo so just keep that in mind.
In case you havent noticed....GW is a game....not everybody has to play it if they dont want....not everybody is going to like it.
Also not everybody does have $50 who is a kid. Even with getting allowance. I know when I was around 10-13 years old my allowance went from $2.50 up to a wopping $10 a week. Dont know about you but at that age on that budget I would rather spend my $40 a month on something else other than saving for a video game. A kids gotta have candy and other crap. I never got a big allowance because all I would spend it on is crap, so I dont really think my parents wanted even more of their money going to buy cheap junk.
Well I play GW and I am 26. My guild has a large member base and not one of them are under 18. Just depends I guess.
