I didn't realize how good GW is until this past weekend I finally played WoW, my friend let me create my own char and I played for 4 days, I thought that the only thing that GW has over WoW is monthly fee, but the overall feel is much better in GW. I just can't belive how game makers are Gouging on the monthly game fees, full price for the game and then 15 bucks a month, what a rip, sorry for the rant, GW has just pulled me in and i'm enjoying myself gamewise than I have in years.

I'm pretty sure if your hooked to one game for a few months (or weeks) and try another game out for 4 days, the results should be pretty clear.
This thread doesn't belong to here, but I don't want to see this topic in GuildWars forum either. A simple type of flame with a pointless "GW is good cause it's free" cliche which simply ignores other aspects of the game. A good thread to ignore

The "feel"? Man, you definatly have to play WoW a bit more and install a couple mods. That's what I hated the most about GW. The feel! Playing WoW feels so much more comfortable. GW is way too Mouse oriented. Compared to WoW which can pretty much be handled entirely via the keyboard. The assist system in GW is pure crap. Any good MMORPGer will always assist the tank. But the fact you gotta click a stupid little "+" beside the tank's name, and i doesn't always work unless the tank himself initializes the assist himself, it just goes downhill when trying to work in groups.
Sure the graphics are nicer in GW, but the animations and movement are cheap. The clipping, the lack of jumping, the mountains you can't climb... any type of movement aspect of GW is crap. I mean I'm walking around, I see my destination right in front of... but there's a rock I could easily jump over that's in the way! But we can't jump! I have to go all the way around!
And height does not mean anything in GW! I could be walking over a bridge, with mobs 100 feet under me, and they will still see me, no matter how slow I walk! Just the fact they are in my "agro zone" they will start attacking me, throwing spells and DoTs. As for me, I was a Ranger/Monk, I could easily hit'em! But the tanks did not have any range attacks, so they just had to cross the bridge while being beaten helplessly, only to be attacked by other mobs that were on the other side of the bridge and get wiped out.
The pre-searing maps were AMAZING!!!! You actually had dungeons! Post-searing... WTF!?!??! Up to level 20 it's always outdoors in the wilderness. The only dungeons left were the ones that prepared you for the ascension. And what was left once I'm level 20? PVP... I hate PVP... it's a waste of time. I'll PVP for a day just to see how good I am (Ranger/Monk OWNED!!) then stop. I actually did stop cause it took 1 WEEK (7 DAYS) to reach level 20, get bored of this game and go back to WoW.
So keep playing... you'll see for yourself the lack of content this game has to offer. Unless you're a diehard PVPer like my friends. They still play this game only for the PVP! But the fact that we arent' gonna see an expansion until 2006, I quit... no point in playing just to make my PVP characters better. If this is what GW is all about, I doubt I'll even bother buying the expansions to come.
Guild Wars = sh1t PVE, but awesome PVP for diehard PVPers
World of Warcraft = sh1t PVP, but definatly a better PVE with more dungeons, more mob variety, better loot.

I love these guys one floats in here every so often with this kind of post. I think they do it cause they are bored and wanna see if they can get a rise out of ppl this in itself is pretty funny thats someone out there has so much time to come back and post crap like this. Like we all are gonna be like omg man your right i didnt see it before but your crap ass thread changed my mind i see the light im switching to gw. not that i dont like the idea of a free mmog but man you must be bored as shit to post that crap go do somthing i get bored of this stuff if your gonna put this crap up at least put some friggin flare in gimme somthing to read.its pitifull that someone has to go on someone elses forum and do that crap you know wht your prolly like 15 or so and this is your silly way of expressing yourself go to your own forums and posting 2 mssges on seperate accnts is childish as hell get a life go play your game something man damn!

i come here in peace , im geting tired of this gw vs wow , so i decide to come here and see whats going on ... i never played wow , so i cant compare.
what i can say is that people that have been trying to say that wow is better then gw , havent done a good job , my impression of wow players is : all that wow players care about is high level and good armor , the cumunity , making friends , the guild , etc etc , nothing this matters ...
im sure this is not what the wow cumunity is all about ...
lets give peace a chance , have fun playing your favorit game and let others do the same.

A good notion...but, to be perfectly honest, neither communitys maturity level is very high...at least on these boards. Having played both extensively, I can honestly say that both games have good and bad points. I see no reason for members of one board to go flaming on the other board. Really guys, grow the hell up.
I've played WoW for 4-5 months and loved it. The community, the graphics, the content, the quests and the entire economic system was great. I did get bored after awhile but loved the game and building up several characters.
I tried GW for about 2 weeks and tried giving it chances but it just didn't do it for me. The PVP system is decent, the graphics are decent, but just the overall feel for the game was a turn off. It's NOT a MMORPG so it was like playing just a multiplayer hack n slash game, which is EXACTLY what it is - HACK N SLASH. People say GW is great because of the game mechanics but these people are either just plain blind or born stupid. People love GW because it's free which by itself is a completely ridiculous reason to LOVE a game and bash other great games like WoW.
If I want a true MMORPG with economy, community, content, loot, and great gameplay I play WoW.
If I want to play a hack n slash "arcade" game that gives me a break from a REAL MMORPG, I play GW.
And yes I said arcade game. The only question is: Where in GW do I put my 25 cents into?
Next move? Uninstalled GW and went back to WoW.

what i meant to say was that what really maters is the people inside , if you dont like the game so much is becose a) your guild is not so good b) you dont have a guild c) you only play with henchys.

well from playing both games about the same time (look at my xfire profile) i have to say that WoW is alot better in some ways and not. GW is really for those that dont play games everyday, and with WoW its the other way. I think WoW is a deaper game and lets you do alot of things that gw doesnt let you.
