Skyrim isn t going anywhere, and this is a good oppurtunity to test and see if it s your style. My wife got in this time so now it s her turn to enjoy the weekend I ll play Skyrim or watch her I guess.
I got my invite yesterday. Amazed at the DL speed for the client - was thinking with all the new invites, including myself that the client DL servers would slow to a crawl. never went below 3.5MB/sec. Made the 20+gigs go by pretty fast.
So, is it wrong of me to feel that since I paid for that super expensive CE that was like $150 bucks to feel like I should get in beta? I kind of feel like, its the most expensive pr-order ive ever seen for a game...imo, those that paid for that should get in the beta. Is this just me, or? Would like to hear other thoughts and not just people that didn't pay for that so they don't want to feel we should be ahead....just curious.
Why would they do that? They already got your money.
Now if they can get all regular editions to upgrade, then you might stand a chance.
Sucks to be joo.
Just kidding, but not really suprised if some companies think in those terms.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

I got a CE too and it is thier game they do not have to allow people in the beta. Just because other companies do it doesn't mean they have to. Look at it this way the game will be super fresh to you when you get into it and it will be awesome. Sometimes I feel beta's are a hinderance because most people use it as a way to see if they like the game or not. They just play it and do not test things or report bugs.
From a marketing standpoint it is good for them because as I said people use it to test the game then they just cancel thier preorder. I would rather the anticipation of launch day and get in where everything is new to me then to be like oh blah I already got a character to level 30 and have to do it all over again. That for me personally is where it gets boring. For once I am actually happy I do not have full time beta access. It just takes away from it all. I think when all is said and done though you will be pleased with the end result.
This is exactly what i did. I played the game to see if i would like it for a few weeks and then cancelled my preorder.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG...I'm in! Finally BioWare has come to its senses and allowed me to grace their game with my presence! Yay! Gonna be an awesome weekend---beginning of college basketball season and SWTOR!
Wow, apparently I'm not special - many people here also got in. It's gonna be a great weekend! Too bad I'm so busy with school I can't play 16 hours a day..... fjls;jkflasjkld
That is the real deal correct? I only ask because that mail account is very prone to spam If it's real, that's pretty cool, don't have any plans on buying the game any time soon, but maybe some beta time can convince me otherwise. I stopped following the game a while ago, so it'll be new to me. See you guys out there

It's funny, I wasn't even excited about the SWTOR beta, or SWTOR all together and yet I still got invited into the beta test. However, once I got my beta invite something awoke and now I'm stoked!!
I'm super pumped. I think I'm going to skip going to the gym this weekend so I can sit on my ass and play swtor every minute that I can. That's right...swtor > personal health. I'm also planning on sending many bug reports out and being the best little beta tester I can, just in case bioware actually takes any of that into account for future testing. They probably don't, but I'm still going to be an apple-polisher just in case.
So when does the testing begin? Friday, Friday night, or Saturday?
it was in the email they sent you, but just to make it quicker, it's friday at 5pm, forget which timezone. again though it should be in your e-mail.
Oh my bad. I just went to www.SWTOR.com/tester and rsvped. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
Is anyone else excited?
Pretty sure most people here view this as a free trial instead of actual testing and tbh I see as a bit of both.
It's been posted on the Officials that this is, in fact, a stress test of the East coast servers. Pretty sure Bioware also sees it as a test drive for people
