You and me both. I'm playing the first Guild Wars trying to collect titles. I've finally picked up some vanquishing momentum. Guild Wars 2 will definitely be fun. Can't wait.

I just got a new graphics card for my PC and a Razer Naga is on the way, so I'm probably gonna resub to Rift for 1 more month, since it's the only MMO worth playing right now, where I can try out my new hardware/peripherals.

Playing EQ2 religiously right now and i will sub to TOR while i wait for GW2. However i am going to keep TOR and GW2 both with ocassional EQ2 every now and then since it is going F2P next month. Two sub free games with TOR, it is like being in MMO heaven ;)

Yeah - excitement over GW2 running pretty high in my household for last few months - my sons all love the game too and can't wait, even though we know it's going to be a while. They delight on finding GW2 video clips on You Tube at the moment and showing them to me when I get home from work.

I've only been playing GW1 just under a year, and just got my GWAMM and 50/50 in before the first birthday of my char. Just knocking about playing through the elite areas and GW Beyond at the moment, and still loving the game. I've also recently made a perma-pre character and been having fun in pre-searing trying to get LDoA and some black dyes. My children are still enjoying the game in various ways - my 6 yr old loves playing in pre-searing while my older boys play EoTN from time to time but are currently enjoying Minecraft while they wait for GW2

So for me, there's still fun to be had in GW1, although I will certainly have a look at SWTOR in the beta weekend because that might be fun for a while until GW2 is released.

I have no rush. Im enjoying DCUO atm with a couple of friends. Combat is great and the game looks great (just want to kick the devs who developed chat and UI). But my guess is that we will run out of content to do soon. Im already lvl30 without even rushing and with all those feats to complete (gives extra skillpoints) I dont feel like rolling an alt.

So Ill probably buy a copy of Skyrim then. Not sure yet if Ill try SWTOR.

Starting playing Age of Conan 2 months ago and guess what? I'm not even looking forwards to any of the new games coming out anymore as I have found gaming bliss! Didn't know a game like this even existed. AoC def has amazed me like no other game has in a very long time. The gameplay is the most challenging since old school MMO's and and the brutal and grittier combats are simply awesome. I don't understand why there is so much hate for this game on these forums. AoC could vey well be the best MMO I have ever played. At least for me anyways...

It really depends on what you are looking for in an MMO. I have played AoC, but aside from what I feel is a not-great F2P conversion (and I dislike the subscription model anyway) I personally prefer a more high-fantasy world, the ability to play non-human races, more class diversity, and a much, MUCH more robust and accesible crafting system.

It's always good to see someone find an MMO they really enjoy, though - no need for there to be only one game out there that everyone has to play! For me, LOTRO (and now Skyrim) are filling my time just fine until GW2 releases.

It receives so much hate primarily for three reasons.

1)PvE endgame was unfinished at launch.

2)PvP endgame was broken at launch and is still buggy to this day.

3)It tried to push the envelope to much graphically. This meant that the majority of gamers were playing a slideshow at launch that crashed at least once an hour.

Well except for the random CTD's I'm getting for Skyrim, it's great fun. I don't think it will hold me over for 6 months though.

  • fiontarfiontar Member UncommonPosts: 3,682

    Another recommendation for Skyrim.

It's far from perfect, but I'm still having a lot of fun playing. I think it's a great shift of gears away from current MMOs to something much more deliberate in pace. I've got 29 hours played so far, just taking my time.

Even though I definitely find myself wishing it had this, that or the other feature from GW2, at least it's not an MMO, where the direct comparison would be a bit demoralizing. (GW2 has already "ruined" most other MMOs for me, just based on what we've seen and the features they are promising).

I do find it funny, though, how some MMOs have leap frogged even the best single player RPGs in a number of areas where the RPGs always had the advantage.

Anyway, good, immersive game for people who like this sort of RPG.

Same as you :). I also recommend Dark Souls if you have a console. I just could find the time to play it and so far it's been a blast! It is hard and tough just like those old-school games.

I love how anet take their time to make a top-notch game. I wish SE had done the same thing with FF14. I had plans to play that game till gw2 launches :D.

FF14 2.0 is looking mighty cool.

    FF14 looked cool also....

Everyone should just relax play Skyrim and Tor when it releases untill GW2 is released somewhere next year... Being obsessed by a game, just makes the wayt look longer...  There are so many other things to enjoy.
