Why do you play WoW?

toeblasttoeblast Member Posts: 11

I remember when i started playing WoW, it was tons of fun and i meet alot of nice people i teamed with all the way up until i hit 60. After 60 it just got more and more boring, hours spent in UBRS/Strat/Scholo just to get better items. After a while i didnt need better items so i quit the game.

Honor System: I logged back on, spent a 2 weeks in TM/Grom Gol tower and got a pretty good standing. But there is no fun in standing in the same 2 places day after day killing horde. It got kinda repeatable.

Battlegrounds: Hurray, maybe PvP finally will have a purpose! I couldnt be more wrong. My server dont have enough people to host Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch aint better then TM/Grom Gol.

So why do YOU play WoW? Is it to get better item? Is it to become a "Grand Marshal"? Or do you play because you have fun?

I just dont see any sense in getting better items, and its nearly impossible to become a Grand Marshal, and personally i dont have fun!

You are all noobs!

I play cos I have no other games to play::::28::

Dropped my last guy at lvl 50 so i'm gonna hit 60 (58.5 atm) maybe get a full blue set do the end game instances as i've never been before and get my pvp rank up a bit.

After that I dunno, might try and get another lvl 60. Or most likely I will go back to eve online::::01::

Only time I really have fun is when i'm grouping with friends, especially if we are trying something pretty hard and just manage it, actually feel like you achieve something in the game for once::::35::

Are you level 60? You dont really know what you are talking about until you hit level 60! Pre 60 is alot of fun, but after 60 it dont make sense to play anymore.

And why wouldnt i play? I dont have time to grind for Grand Marshal in WSG all day long, and i dont need better items! Maybe there is something else i can do? Surprise! there isnt.

  • I agree that WoW lacks end-game content, but I'll continue to play until I hit 60 or I need to go back to working with Bioware on NWN2. WoW is the placeholder for the "MMO slot" in my life right now, because all others suck compared to this and I haven't seen and done all there is to see and do.... yet. After I hit 60, who knows, maybe I'll just hang around and help out lowbies by giving them piles of free money, or ill simply quit and find a new obsession to fill the 8 hour void in my pathetic life. My 7th MMO is WoW (Eve, Anarchy Online, Final Fantasy XI, Everquest II, SWG, and Guild Wars being the others) and I believe that it is the best if you're just being immersed in that world for the first time, if you've played before and quit and are now somehow seeking to join again: There's nothing new.

    THERE IS PLENTY TO DO!!!!

once you reach 60 you can... go on dragon raids, pvp, get new armor, become a grand marshall, pvp, get more weapons, pvp, team wit people, PVP, and did i meantion pvp?

I play for the social setting.  I leveled my first 60 in late December and yes the game is too easy at leveling. The peeps with 8+ 60's crack me up.

PvP? this game defies PvP. nothing in the game is real pvp and untill you play Shadowbane you haven't realized what real PvP is.

To bad your a 10 year old WoW groupy who hasn't touched any other MMO but WoW and can't stand it when other people are right.::::31::

I play WoW because my friends play WoW and because it keeps me up to date on what companies are doing in their games.

For PvP, I enjoy Planetside.  Shadowbane was fun for me for a bit, but I realized the part I was most interested in was really only for about 1% of the game population. (City Management)  As part of a very PvP oriented guild in Shadowbane, I had no problem finding a good fight.  And being a bank Thief seemed to get me in plenty of fights, or flights.  However, I really wanted to be part of city management and not just someone donating cash.

I still think Shadowbane is a very fun game for the PvPer in you, and I will probably go back every once in a while.  But, it really isn't the end game for me.

My work schedule is rather hectic,  I can only afford to play on a very casual level during the week, and a few hours straight on the weekends. I can play it for an hour, feel like I accomplished something and log out.

I don't feel the pressure to grind levels in this game.
