I've redeemd the code for the:

I don't see any download links, do i need to just wait for an email before I can download the beta?

You will get an email from Bioware with further instructions once they have the testing date, etc. Have fun!

got a second mail from them saying it will be nothing more than a weekend event prior to launch, after the comfermation of beta code entry

Wish they would just give us the link to start downloading the client.
It's stupid to not give everyone the link immediately at 27GB download I will need days to download that size of a file.
What is the problem with giving people the link now? they can just patch any changes required.

It makes perfect sense not to release information ahead of time. Beta is still under NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement), meaning minimum exposure of client data is in the best interest of the company developing. Really annoying if the tester or even the download service has low bandwidth I agree, but I can't really blame them either.
Long wait till whatever weekend beta that is. More than like 3-4 days of beta with a few days beforehand to download the 17gigs of game.

If you were in one of the previous weekends, and you got the email saying you'd be invited to the next one, then you'll be able to play for more than one weekend.
I think they're letting everyone who ever signed up for testing (well, as long as it was before 11.11.11) in for the next weekend.
