Well first off this game has no gameplay whatsoever its horrible, theres no talent needed to play this game and the RP part of the game is pointless quests and hack and slash 1 MOB after another. The community is horrible, there is no contact with other players other then your guild or party besides standing in the middle of town. The sound is repetitive. The 3 decent things that come out of this game are Graphics(besides some of the character models this game has great graphics), The Lag there is none thats mostly because they seperate the Zones but this game isnt a MMORPG its a MORPG, and the best thing to come out of this game is no monthly fee. if your looking for a good solid MMO this is NOT it, but if your looking for some fun on the side its worth buying. From my experience and many i have talked to its hard to play this game for more then an hour at a time. If you looking for a game to devote to i would suggest Shadowbane(PvP, Sieging, the most indepth character designing, and Politics) or WoW(it takes the devoted time to get anywhere).
I rate this game 2 out of 5 / 4 out of 10

This is one of the ONLY mmorpg's that you need talent to play. You need to know what skills to use, how to use them, when to use them, and switching classes changes the playing style completly. Most people like the fact that there is instancing. The rpg mode is only supposed to be to unlock skills and items for pvp, which is why the game might not seem like a mmorpg, but in my opinion, it has a great storyline. GW deserves at least a 9/10.
PS: Check Reviews On The Run, they put this game up against The Matrix Online (I don't know why), and it won, getting 8.5 and 9.5 I think.
PS: Your rating doesn't matter.
that doesn't change the fact that the game takes no talent...
the skills are easily timed for best prefection of them. obviously seeing your Sig you're a GW Fan and probly haven't played a game that takes skill to play... btw anyone can rate a game 9.5 that doesn't make it a 9.5 its all there opinion imo its almost as bad as Eq2 which is horrible. Also my mind is easily pulled off from making fair posts on games that take no talent cause i play a game that does... heard of SB?
EDIT: btw this game is a MORPG not a MMORPG.
I played it about 12 hours when I just got it. It's a great game imo. It has a great storyline, where you are a part of it. That is of course if you just played it more than a couple of hours. The game is what the devs, and others like myself, call a CORPG.
Now, to repeat myself from another topic, why would people say: Guild wars sucks because its not a MMORPG. Because they need to say something bad about the game to "raise" their own game. Saying Guild wars sucks because it's not a MMORPG, makes just about as much sense, as saying Half-life 2 sucks bigtime because it's not a real roleplaying game. CORPG is a new genre, if you don't like then don't say you don't like it because it's another Genre.
Whether you like it or not, Guild Wars requires true skill, coordination and teamwork. But based on your comments on the roleplay element in it, I'd say you haven't played this game a lot, if you even have played it. There is no such thing a god-character in Guild Wars, to the contrary compared to a lot other games.
I haven't tried Shadowbane, but WoW. Yes, WoW takes devoted time to make a god-character. This means basicly, that there's a lot less skill included. WoW rewards time used, not skill. I have played WoW, only a bit less than Guild Wars, and I think WoW is a really good game. But I'd still like to be a bit more active, and more varied quests.
The Quests aren't pointless. Many of them, to the contrary compared to many other games, actually have something to do with the story-line(missions. Also some secondary quests) and many quests are realistic(With that I don't mean fireballs are realistic)
Quest vary a lot. To check on ones girlfriend, to chase a hog home, to get deserters home, to kill a bandit, to protect a temple and so on.
I've tried to win over 15 consecutive wins in an arena with one team, and afterwards tried with another team to loose in under a minute. Now all of us were about the same level. What went wrong? We didn't talk together, like before. We made a perimeter, gave me some cover and called out attacks. Like if I did immolate, another poisen, and a third one gale. That did excessive damage. This sort of team work, and coordination takes time to learn. The single spell in it's own is easy to learn, but a good usage of you combo of skills, and your teammate skills in contrary to the enemies skills, also takes a lot of time.
You didn't even mention PvP? You said that there's no gameplay in this game whatsoever? But you didn't back your opinion up. There's a lot gameplay. The roleplay part is fine, but the best part is PvP. It's varied, because of the different missions if you're in a guild and have a guild hall, because of the many different locations, and the different team combos.
I think your opinion of a talentless game, is a game where you don't have to spend about 500 hours to get a good character.
Any comments?

yeah, well i play SB the most talent based PvP game imo and in many others opinion. And it takes 3 days to get max lvl. So no i don't think games that don't take a long to to lvl up in are talentless. WoW imo is a talentless game made to attract preteens with its disney like graphics i have nothing good to say about WoW the only reason i put that in my Post was to point out if you actually want to play a game that takes devotion to lvl up high its the one. i tryed WoW and i droped it in a week. As for GW i own it i though the concept of a Free MMO was awesome, the graphics rock yes but thats probly the only reason that i load the game anymore to get some eye candy time in. The reason i got turned off was that i found the PvP to be talentless, comparing it to a game like SB. The games constant run here kill this pick this up type quest disappointed me. And the reason i am most disapointed in this game is i was lead to believe this game was a MMO not a instanced game where the only community you really get is in town.
This is all IMO like it says in the Post topic so yeah ppl will have different opinions about games thats why i am not going to flame you or put you down or anything like that cause your post is IYO.
oh and i played 16 hours straight when i got it. it took me a week to relize it was pointless and a bout 2 weeks to uninstall.
Now I'm not gonna say: And that's just your opinion. But I would actually say you're the first to say Guild Wars suck in proper way. Good Job.
As you say, we all like our style of games, and it's fine that way. Otherwise it would pretty boring.
Haven't tried Shadowbane, I consider doing based on what you told me.
There's just one thing you need to know about guild wars. It's not a mmo(you know that) and it never intended to be one. So if you don't like that kind of more "casual" (that's what I would call it) is obviously that you would get dissappointed with it.

This game takes alot of talent and thought IMO.
Just the way you strafe and pivot in this game makes a huge difference.. not getting hit from the back.. your terrain placement the skills you use, how you use them..how you customize your chars stats.. the equipment you use... jesus.. its like the most talent needing game ever really.. they devs made it so its simple for people who are casual but if you want to be great you have to spend some time in it..
i love it
Not bash you on talent, but tell me an MMORPG that needs talent. All the other MMORPG's kinda seem to be item based and all of the other MMORPG skill system is just like your lvl. The higher your lvl gets the stronger skills you will get. Now GW doesn't have that system, all of the skills aren't overpowered and mostly you can combine skills and create a chain-reaction. This game isn't an MMORPG, it's a CORPG. I don't know where you got MORPG.
Anhoter few things:
There is no contact with other people unless you talk to them.
This game has no gameplay? Define the word "gameplay" for yourself.
Talent? Talent means if you're good in something. Like you know how to make people really angry, that's talent.
RP? Yeh, maybe they kinda defined that kinda wrong, but you're saying that most of other MMORPG's aren't about killing and questing?
Sound is repetitive? I don't know how you can make a different sound, when you're swinging a sword.

read the rest of the posts in this thread. also MORPG= Multiplayer online role play game.
yeah SB is dieing but since they announced the Lore server the population is raising quite abit. I am guess from all the people i heard are coming back for a Lore server that the population on it atleast for the first few months will be in the 800's
EDIT: also even tho the game has 300 ppl on at peak atm. it still has better community then GW.
