Hey guys, im currently looking for a PVP game. I dont mind PVE at all, but i like to throw pvp in there too. i like to mix it up.  I like to play wow, i played anarchy online and EQ. im prety much a hardcore PVPer, i would like to find a game where you can actually gain exp and level though pvp, with a WoW feel if possible. I really do enjoy playing WoW but its just getting a little old for me. i dont really like point and click games so those are out of the question and kind of limit game selection.  If anyone has any suggestions i would more then appreciate them. thanks

The real time combat system in DCUO is second to none imo.I only log on to pvp and have blast. You get to pvp from level 6 in Legends mode and then at level 9 in arena. You could level from pvp alone from the wanted poster quest but it gives very little exp and would take a very long time.On the plus side it will only take a week or less to reach level 30 but then there's the skill points to get...

Darkfall is the only MMORPG I know of that can give me an adrenaline rush. I've had games so fast-paced that they broke me into a sweat before but never have I found one that has given me a rush like this one can. This is probably the biggest reason that many say its currently the best PVP game. This weekend has x4 experience and bonus loot too so now is a great time to check it out! They have a free 14-day trial.

Guildwars I think is the best grindless PVP for instanced battlegrounds.

For free games LOL or WAR's endless free trial are probably the best. Pick WAR if you want the PVP to be the grind.

If I were going to play a game like WoW or EQ for the PVP it would be an oldschool game like DAOC or AC. I think the recent ones just aren't as good.

EVE is probably the best sandbox for a laptop I think.

If you want a game that's similar to WoW in the PVP department, you might try RIFT.

You can level to 50 through the warfronts (their name for battlegrounds). There's five warfronts currently, with one warfront having a weekend twist added to it. You have murderball (hold an object, but take an increasing DoT while you hold it until you die), CTF, Capture and Hold, and siege.

At level 50, you start earning Prestige, which is basically a PVP rank that determines what PVP gear you can equip. You can buy some blue gear with your earned favor (pvp currency) along your leveling journey and when you hit 50, but you'll need that plus the prestige to get the best gear.

PvP gear gives a distinct advantage through two PvP stats - Valor (compare to Resilience) and Vengeance (bonus damage versus players only). However, Trion recently performed valor normalization across all the prestige sets, so while players will be generally carrying the same Valor levels in a full prestige set (30.04% damage reduction versus players), players with higher prestige gear simply have better stats like strength/dexterity/attack power, etc. This means that once you get your first prestige set, you'll be on the same playing field without getting roflstomped every single time, but there is incentive to go for the higher prestige gear.

Aside from warfronts, there's also daily PvP quests that send you to a zone to PvE, but they will ideally have you run into opposing faction members, when playing on a PVP server (which you should!). They reward prestige, favor, and reputation with the PvP factions.

There are also PvP Rifts. If you aren't familiar, rifts are Trion's answer to WAR's public quests, basically. PVP rifts allow either faction to open a rift that causes an objective minigame to form in a zone - the opener usually has to ferry sourcestone to a location while the opposing faction has to stop the couriers and take out the structures at the rift.

Also, as you probably have seen with the ads on this site, there's a new zone called Ember Isle. This zone is designed for seasoned 50s, but the important part is that it is a centerpiece for world PVP because this new zone has quite rewarding content so players are drawn out to the zone content instead of sitting in their cities 24/7. Due to zone-wide events happening in both the old zones and Ember Isle, you'll generally be able to find a hotspot for some world pvp if that's your thing.
