Rift: Fae-Yule Holiday Event Begins

Trion Worlds is off to an early start, kicking off their six-week "Fae Yule" holiday event in RIFT today. Fae Yule is a three-phase world event replete with new quests, fancy holiday hats, corgis (yes, corgis), and even "that guy" in the form of a grumpy satyr who hits the sauce a little too much during the festivities.

With all the excitement, there has to be someone out there interested in ruining the fun, right? Enter Crucia, the Dragon of Air. This opportunistic dragon is in the market for a couple of new Fae slaves and what better time to snatch up a few than Fae-Yule? Of course, as an Ascended you'll be tasked with thwarting Crucia's plans, that is, when you're not out collecting Unique Snowflakes to redeem for fabulous holiday rewards such as the new "lavish vaiyuu mount" and "jolly corgi companion."

To get the ball rolling on the event, Trion will be granting players three days of subscriber bonuses beginning this weekend, including a bonus to earned experience, PvP Favor and Prestige, Plaques of Achievement, and Planarite.

    It was odd how this started. I was on my way to the mailbox when I hear something. Next thing I know, a Christmas tree & decorations appear and I'm a reindeer. Well after getting a bunch of server firsts, I realized it's just the same as every other world event. A new currency to grind, some dallies and other crap.

    It starts for US. EU still have to wait until tomorrow morning like we are dogs or not human enough to be worthy updates at same time as US. Do you hate EU, or what is the problem? I think dogs are as worthy updates as humans are, animals have rights to even if we are not, but you treat us like we are the worst kind of secondhand bloodgivers, to feed your greed and make those subs fill your wallet with cash cash money and here we Europeans sit and we don't get the update at same time as US?

    I love Rift and enjoy the game greatly. But I play games to get away from the normal run of life. So why on earth do they feel the need to drag stuff like Christmas into games. I'd much prefer they didn't. I guess now is a good time for me to do some pre-playing of swtor. Shame on you rift for feeling the need to copy others in this annoying matter.

    I would have grinded the weekend away if I wasn't busy playing the closed-open TOR weekend beta. 

    Played - M59, EQOA, EQ, EQ2, PS, SWG[Favorite], DAoC, UO, RS, MXO, CoH/CoV, TR, FFXI, FoM, WoW, Eve, Rift, SWTOR, TSW.
    Playing - PS2, AoW, GW2

    I really wanted to enjoy rift, but dang it, I just didn't see it taking me another six months or so until better games came out. I have been doing the ftp thing and checking out a few betas. Much more enjoyable.

    Not to everyones taste, but i like it, and i love the game.
