The great thing about this F2P model is that L2 has had monthly fees AND has always been Pay2win. I left because you almost NEEDED to subscribe two accounts to play and I wasn't going to pay $30 a month just so I could buff myself anytime I wished. Now NCSoft will take a page of a book left from the private server community. This is going to be big since the private server community of Lineage 2 is huge and all have been waiting for this day.
The 2-account thing has always beena problem indeed. Either that or play only when your clan/friends play.
And yes, I've been telling all along that the HUGE private server community will jump ship en-mase now and that L2 most likely will become #2 in active players (if not #1 with WoW's massive drop in subs lately...)

I highly doubt its gonna even make the top 5.... I liked it back in the day but there is just no way its gonna bring it that many people to be even close to #1 or #2..

I honestly dont know how this thing will turn out for Lineage 2 but of all the games that have gone free to play in the past I think Lineage 2 is going to surpass them all. Lineage 2 is the one game that can actually really grow from doing this.
If you like meaningful PvP...then its one of the best :P
Let me guess sarcasm right? its a decent PTW game, gold farmers and bots were rampent . Now the money for pay to win will simply be going to the devs cash shop instead of the gold farmers that were bribing the devs to let them endless bot and gold farmAh well let me not keep ayone from the meaningfull pvp of ganking noobs 20+ levels lower 5 feet out of the noob towns

When I last played, the economy was terrible.. I mean, worse than it's ever been. I used to at least make a steady stream of income flipping seal stones for AA, but changes they'd made prior to my last time back even ruined that method... Long-time players with money coming out their ears and geared to the teeth were even acknowledging that they dont' know how newer players would be able to equip themselves without buying adena at the higher levels.
Anything new they've done since or plan to do that anyone can shed some light on?
