I have never used a keyboard / mouse combo for specifically gaming, but with SWTOR coming out I feel like I should invest. Keep in mind that I have been using the same keyboard and mouse for years so it is time for a new set.
Any suggestions? I am looking for one with the macro keys and maybe LED lights (for the "cool" factor). If anyone has one that they use and are happy with, let me know!
EDIT: Would the Razer SWTOR keyboard be worth it? (200$ 0_o)

The Razer Naga. I use it for SWTOR and other games, and I love it. It's especially handy in PVP, allowing me to keep my eyes on the screen and my fingers on the wasd keys.
Edit: as for the keyboard, I'm still trying to decide that for myself.
I'd personally go for the Razor Naga. if you got the dosh then get keyboard aswel.
Edit: Beaten to it :P
Keyboard? G510
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/gaming-keyboard-g510
I still have my old G15 ... the G510 is the nearest to it. Logitech also do some veriations with less programable keys, different LED displays etc. Check them out. Used my G15 for many many years now and sadly you just cant buy them anymore. Will be sad if / when it finally does die
OP, the Logitech G510 linked above is a very nice keyboard, but if you'd like something that will satisfy your stated requirements for a good bit less (~$60 less), you could consider a Microsoft Sidewinder X4, which has macro keys and is nicely backlit.

As for the Mouse, it depends on what you're looking for. Many mice have absurd numbers of buttons, but in terms of the best mouse, I say the Logitech G500 and G700 are very hard to beat. They have superb sensors and good ergonomics, and still come packed with a fair number of buttons (including 3 thumb buttons). It depends on what you're looking for (if you just want buttons, and nothing else, the Razer Naga does a great job).
I too would recommend the G15 or G510. It's especially handy when you play full screen and want to see who just spoke on teamspeak or ventrilo. Just look at the keyboards LCD.
The Z-board...It has seperate keys for movement and abilities...best i've seen...organized and efficient..great for any style of play, makes using powers quick and easy...
Damn do I hate this kind of threads!!! Now I had to get a new keyboard and mouse. For the keyboard I went for the Saitek (latest keyboard, I don't remember the name)
I self identify as a monkey.
Keyboard - the Microsoft Arc keyboard. it's small and cordless so you can get it the hell out of the way for your Naga Molten Edition mouse, and G13 gameboard.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I love my razer naga and lycosa combo but razer makes lots of keyboards and mice.
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
I useG13+G15+Razer Naga But thats a bit extreme.
However, Razer Naga is a must have for mmos imo, 19 button mouse cant go wrong.
I also swear by Logitech products. The g15 is a staple for many gamers, but if you have the money you probably should invest in a g510 like one of the posters mentioned.
Also, I haven't brought nay razer keyboards before, but i get the impression they are inferior to Logitech with support based on the software that came with my naga.

Before buying anything i suggest you go into a store and test out a mechanical gaming keyboard if possible.
For a mouse, I prefer the Logitech G9x. It let's you customize it in terms of the tactile feel of the grip, the color of the LEDs, even the weight of the mouse can be changed. Also you can change the DPI based on settings you specify and saved to a profile on the mouse's on board memory at any time with the touch of a button. The scroll wheel can be altered to be smooth or click. After you have your profiles saved for exactly the DPI settings you'd like, you dont' even need the software installed. You can use the mouse on a computer without the software, and because of the on-board memory, still have all your settings saved.
It doesn't have fifty million buttons, but I prefer that. Personal preference.
Only thing I don't like about it is the cord. It's durable, but not as bendy as some cheaper cords.
Newegg has the G9x on sale for 60 bucks, down from 100.
Which brings me to my next question. The Razer Naga or the Naga Epic?
I use Logitech G700 mouse, it has both wired and wireless modes. I cant stand wires, they always interupt my gameplay and its a huge pain plus I wanted to go alll wireless with my laptop, it works amazing well.
I prefer the original Naga myself, since I dislike wireless mice.
Your milage may vary, however.
For keyboards - I bought a G15 last year, but I didn't like the layout of the media control buttons, which also felt a bit cheap plastic, and I never used the LCD panel. The macro keys are the same height as the other keys so I kept hitting the macro key when I reached for the ESC key. The software seemed a little unstable, and the Windows SideShowGadget app needed to be set to not monitor the keyboard or Windows Media Player would hang.
I bought a Sidewinder X6 a few months ago because I liked the media control layout better and the turn knob for volume. The macro keys are also a smaller and lower height than normal keys so it's easier to avoid hitting them by mistake. The numpad is detachable/side-swappable which makes more room on my desk. Key presses also feel much nicer than the G15 and as close to mechanical as you can get with a membrane. I'd also read the Sidewinder keyboards have the best anti-ghosting in its price range (the more expensive mechanical keyboards like Razer's should have 1 to 1 key circuitry) which was something I still encountered on my G15 because of the weird key combinations I press in MMO's. Downside to this keyboard is there are no kickstands to angle the keyboard if you need it adjusted beyond the default.
Anyway, what I didn't realize was it's the little things in the layout that really mattered to me. Try to think about where you want keys to be when you reach for them, and find the keyboard that matches up with that best. Don't worry about getting the most expensive on the market because it won't help you any if it's not intuitive for you to use.
Keyboard and Mouse choices are purely subjective, what works for one person, may not work for another. If you can, try to get to the store, and try them out. I have a logitech g15 Keyboard which I'm not all that fond of, and a Razer Death Adder mouse which I really like.
I had used logitech mice for years, but never found them to be that comfortable, so I tried the Razer Death Adder and liked it. The Razer does feel pretty cheap compared to the logitech mice I have used, but has been going strong for over a year, so I can't complain.
The Logitech g15 Keyboard is ok for games, but rather mediocre for actual typing. I do find the little screen comes in handy when using Ventrilo/Teamspeak/whatever and for monitoring system temps and whatnot. I do think I will probably give a mechanical keyboard a go next time around.
I second Noquarter's observations on the MS Sidewinder keyboards; they really do type more nicely than anything else I've ever used, save mechanical keyboards (which cost grossly more), to say nothing for being miles better than the Logitech ones (for once; Logitech is usually my first choice for most peripherals, hands down).
I considered the X6 myself, but the removable number keypad wasn't particularly essential to my setup, so the X4 was a much better deal.
The X4 was only $30 at Newegg and Amazon (which, hands down, would have been a better deal than anything else one could have bought), but it's already out of stock, so that boat came and went. Now the cheapest is ~$50, so for ~$10 more, you might as well get the X6.
Imo, it's the best overall keyboard you're going to get, short of buying something like the $130 Razer Black Widow (which is mechanical).
I say go to a decent shop and get someone to get the mouse you are thinking about out of box and hook it up. Or be ok with you returning it soon as you have tried it out.
As has been said, the mouse is important. It needs to feel right or you will not ever be happy with it no matter how many buttons it has:)
That said, i have a Razer Naga, and to me, the buttons ( on the side) are too small for me to use comfortably. A case of too many in such a small area. I am not into many FPS or PVP games so the buttons are very secondary to me anyhow so i kept it. It seems pretty nice otherwise. Works on about any surface i have tried it on from bare wood of my desk to several of my different pads i have.
No clue to a KB i am not very demanding in that regard so anything that types works for me:)
I don't actually have any experience with this mouse but it looks ergonomically the best multi-button placement to me, if you really want a ton of buttons on your mouse.

i dont recommend the Razer Naga. It's amazing to play a MMO with it but it's not worth the money.
I had one and it last less than a year, double click issue... lots and lots of people had the same problem (google said).
I got kinda pissed, the price is high the quality is poor, not a durable mouse and you feel it as soon as you get it. The plastic is cheap and clunky.
Now i have a wireless mouse from microsoft, sidewinder X8, is a great mouse but not the best for FPS gaming... sometimes the wireless does wierd things and you end up loosing precision, though their blue light (dont recall the right name) traking technology is amazing !!! the mouse responds even over GLASS !!! i can use the mouse on top of my window... its freaking amazing.
I'm almost buying a Logitech G9x though, i like Logitech, they do great products very durable... i have a G110 (keyboard), very good for a good price, a logitech MIC , G25 (wheel controller) and used to have a logitech sound system... they all are very well made and durable.
I would recommend Logitech products over razers without thinking... really razer has a brand with cool itens but they make them cheap on purpouse... they don't have the best price to justify cut offs on build material and quality.
Interesting, I have 2 friends that own Razer mice that also had issues. One was fixed with a firmware update, but the other still has to unplug his Razer mouse+keyboard and plug back in sometimes. Personally I just don't find them all the comfortable.
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/7246 <-- Logitech G510 ive had it for almost a year and i freaking love it. Haven't purchased a good gaming mouse yet, i still use the World of Warcraft mouse

Personally cant deal with Naga too many buttons under the thumb, im content with a cheap mouse and keyboard preferably slim profile keyboard makes for easy reach of keys and as for mouse ill quite happily play with a £10 mouse with 2 side buttons under the thumb
most games allow modifiers so button 4-5 on mouse + Shift, CTRL and Alt modifiers gives 8 on mouse alone and keys to go go with it also scroll if the game permits allows for the same 12 modifiers with scroll up, scroll down and press of mouse wheel and modifiers as said above

I recieved a Razer mouse as a gift, and had the double click issue as well. Wasn't worth the (free) price to me, so I threw it away.
