Why is this game so popular to all of you? Is it the graphics good, or is it the gameplay? A little bit of curiosity? Is there anyone will explain or help me to answer these questions inside my mind. Even my friends are playing this game. And I doubt if this game is really good

You see that a lot of people like it and you don't know anything about it... but you the doubt the game is really good.

    Ok.. I'll bite:

For me, the character advancement system, the animations, the dragon battles, the attachment to the game world and being a werewolf make for an entertaining and engaging game.

Because Skyrim is an open world action RPG with a combat system that I was looking for.

But honestly, must you come here and ask strangers like us? You have friends who play this...why don't you watch them play and see the game for yourself?

The depth of this game is astounding. The giant open(almost seamless) world draws you in and makes you feel like you are actually a part of it. The guild and quest system are flawless and really immerse you into the world as well. The new combat system feels very agile and less clunky than previous ES games. Character advancement and development means you can make any type of character you want from something like a Battle Mage (heavy armor/magic), to a shadow hunter (stealth/bow/one handed), a barbarian (2 handed heavy or light armor high health and stamina), a destructive/illusion/conjuring wizard type or such things as a simple smith or enchanter. Those are all just a few examples of a mix of classes you can make. Really talking about this game can't do it justice but playing it will either blow you away and put your RPGs on a higher standard, or make you go back to your favorite FPS. In the end its still preference.

Hmm.. Maybe this are the keys that attracts many people to play this gameimage

To me, it's not about this or that feature in particular, it's about how everything comes together. The advancement system, the lore, the visual design, the music, the mini-stories, the freedom, the fact that NPCs seem to be leading their own lives (just watch the blacksmith get up early and go to open shop, it does feel like a small town coming to life in the morning).

Also, the game manages to surprise me quite often; funny things can and do happen here. A dragon might descend and straight out roast the NPC you are talking to. The horse you got off can really get pissed off at you because you cast an area effect spell. You can "train" BA mobs to a place to fight each other - a bloodbath of giants, mammoths and dragons! You'll find hunters out in hot springs in their underwear, just, um, chilling. :)

Also, to me, the dragon encounters still haven't got old - they still feel epic and thrilling. (You just have to take care not to make yourself overpowered -  because with the right choice of professions, you can.)

In this game I often find myself setting out to accomplish a goal and swaying so much off that goal that I have to laugh. One time I set out to do something in Riften without utilizing fast travel and ended up hours later in Solitude - without ever getting to Riften! I just lose track of time.

Also, I always try to get the most out of my shady deals with shameless lying and betrayal, and I find the game indulges my whim.

Maybe it sounds like simple catchphrase, but Skyrim does indeed feel like a world. Also to me, the gameplay is the best in series.

Yeah I tried to watched them  while playing but I felt a little dizzy when they switch it i think like in  FPS mode. I hate it. but maybe I'll try the game just to test if really this game was great.

It’s not really that good. I think people are hyped because there is not much else to play.

It has good gameplay, if will entertain you for sure. but there is a lot of issue in the game, which I’ll say here.

I know its not a hack’n’slash, though getting new gear is deffently one of the biggest joys in the game. This feeling is ruined by blacksmithing and enchanting. Get both of them to 100 in 2 hours. or if you don’t wanna waste your time on exploiting the rather bad made vendor engeneer, then just type in a cheat code. One is as good as the other, you just don’t waste time with a cheat code. When you have 100 each and have some of the pots that gives you +50% better refine on smithing you can easily (for my sake in the game) make a bow and armor so you have 400 dmg on bow, 3-4 shotting dragons..

The PC versions interface is a huge issue, it’s so crappy converted from the consol that it almost made me quit the game, it would have if it wasn’t because I had nothing else to do on my PC.

if I should rate the game I would give the game it self 5/10

the story and how you fit into it 9/10

overall, if you don’t like SW:TOR this is a good game to pas some time. If you want a better storyline TOR got it for you. much more entertaining even if you play it out single

EDIT: There are not really that many dungeons as people say, do 3-4 and you feel like u did most, they are all so much alike that it feels like copy-past, which a huge amount of them are.

People also says this is an open world, which it really is for most part. But when u talk about open worlds i always remember Ultima VIII Pagan, that was a open world. but this come close.

tbh its a oki game, if feel i got my moneys worth, but not more.

The singular thing i like about it above all is the freedom. No railroading you on levels. You can follow the main storyline or do whatever you like. This is what makes the elder scrolls series stick out. More the question is. Why do you doubt something you havent even tried? If your friends are playing it ask to use it.

Translation: I purposely exploited and cheated so now the game is way too easy so it must be crap!

Here's an idea for you... play the game the way the designers intended and don't try to take shortcuts. Just because you can do a thing does not mean you should. I have little remorse for someone who ruined their own game experience through exploiting and cheating.

Q4 of this year has been so release heavy its almost ridiculous, I cannot remember so many games coming out in such a short period in the last few years.

So Skyrims popularity has nothing to do with "not much else to play".

    Currently playing:

EVE online (Ruining low sec one hotdrop at a time)

    Gravity Rush,
    Dishonoured: The Knife of Dunwall.

    (Waiting for) Metro: Last Light,
    Company of Heroes II.

I think the entire TES game series is over rated.

The are basically MMOs without the Multiplayer.

I found TOR and from what I played, GW2 to be far better.

I played TOR beta and I saw no townlife,no roaming mobs, just static nps and static mobs in groups of 3-4 for you to kill.

There is no MMO to this date that even come close to Skyrim epicness infact i doubt you even played Skyrim when you made this stupid remark.

So run along to your lifeless kill 8 mobs TOR you seems to be so much fond off.

That's an overview for 2011. And surely you must know that Q4 was one of the most populated time of AAA games release.

It's kinda tiring that people bash Skyrim because lots of people like it. If you like it, you like it. If you don't, then don't. It isn't a sin to like the gameplay of Skyrim.

Back in 2002-2004 we TES fans were just the minority. I miss those days.

I thought, "Why I am running around an open world game alone?" anything I can do in Skyrim I could do in WoW, TOR, EQII and I assume GW2.

I don't give a shit if an NCP that has nothing to do with me, talks to another NPC or walks around. I don't pay attention to things like that.

Unlike Skyrim things you do in ANY mmo matter.

I'll say it once again. Skyrim when compared to MMOs like GW2 and TOR suck IMHO. Oh look that NPC is talking with that other NPC in skyrim!!!!1!1!1!11!11!1!!!!. Sweet I can talk with different NPC with my buddies in TOR.

HOLY COW LOOK AT THIS CAVE I FOUND IN SKYRIM!!!1!!1!!1!!!1!!! Great that triggered a DE in GW2 that I can play.....With other people.

Wow, did you really compare Skyrim to that steaming pile that was Pagan?   That game should be ashamed that it had the Ultima name associated with it.

Back on topic, there has not been a RPG in recent memory that has done this many things right, and so few wrong.  A Metacritic score of 95/100 is no joke.

If you don't like Skyrim then you don't. At least I'm playing something I enjoy while you're there trying to bash Skyrim (it's kinda tiring I guess). Go use your time better and enjoy your own games -_-.

    EDIT:

There is a thin line between criticizing the game and bashing it out of envy. When people say the UI is bad (I don't think so coz I like the style, kinda reminds me of Apple), I understand (and even saw a good review of it in a form of an infographic).

But when I see someone using the few quirks of skyrim as a form of "game breaker" for most gamers, I just go "say what?". I mean, it's your problem, how did Skyrim suddenly become the worst game ever? Lol. At least in your opinion it might be, and I'll support you in the sense that you have every right to have your own opinion. But to represent the whole gaming community (oh yes the whole gaming community, so I'm also part of it. Dont talk about the gaming community if you're only talking about the people who dislike Skyrim), I mean, you're way over your head.

Again, there's a thin line between criticizing and envy. When I see a basher, I don't see a critic. All I see is an envious person bashing a game that others enjoy while he couldn't.

See, I'm starting to think that the lion's share of the population are like this guy, so that's why Themeparks are so popular.  Why anyone even plays an RPG or MMORPG while ignoring the world and immersion factor of such a game is beyond me.  It's like they have no imagination and are just combat-oriented sociopaths.
