I finally got into BETA and after about an hour I realized I better quit beta if I'm gonna play this game when it launches. Why ya might ask. Just how many times do I want to go through the story lines ? I feel it could ruin my experince to beta through story lines such as bounty hunter or any other story line and then when game releases to have to go through the same story again and experince burn-out.
The game still needs to be polished some before it gets released. I'll play and hope it's entertaining enough to hold me until GW2. And yes it does need some polishing. Don't hand me it's puurrfect crap.
All I wanna warn people is to THINK about what you are doing in beta and do you really want to replay the story again after servers launch. For me..I'm skipping beta and playing fresh at launch.

I did the same. I logged on just for the feel of the UI, see the basics of the screen, options and then quit. I really don't want to detract my start into the game.
Plus, Its hard for me to level a character that I know is gonna be wiped. I know its just a beta, but I have a mental disorder which causes this behavior.
I self identify as a monkey.
since i plan to play trooper at launch i have only been playing imperial stuff(mostly agent) so i am completely fresh for it when i start at launch
I honestly don't blame ya. But none my my toons have made it to cap....and as I still replay KOTOR 1 and 2 about every six months....replaying the story doesn't bother me at all.
I know...I'm a junkie, and I need help
You don't have to ruin the story for yourself. Simply play a class that you won't play at launch. I intend on making a jedi consular, so I played the Inquisitor and I would have played a Trooper if I had time.
You can spacebar through all the quest dialogues, you know.
But it is puurfect...HAHAHAHA...LOLCATS...Nice post!!!
Just like most themeparks, once you play through it, you're pretty much done with the game.
While playing beta may wear off some of the newness, I'd never pass up an opportunity to try out a game before I bought it. In this case, I'm not impressed enough with it to play after release. I'll probably quit beta too, but it will because I lost interest.
I was going to try beta again today but then i saw there was an 11gb patch waiting for me. So i said screw it, downloading that crap is not worth my time.
I have an absolutely horrible memory so anything I saw in the game I pretty much will forget so I could have played it from the start of the beta and remembered almost nothing.
Money is the root of all evil.
I was in beta since march and they had char wipes/new phases every six weeks. I leveled more then one of each faction above level 20 most of those phases. While i may not be a future subscriber my reasons have nothing to do with the story or releveling the first 20 levels for the twenth plus time.
I played Imperial Agent twice through the starting planet and had a very different experience based on dialog choices each time. My friend played an IA as well and shared a different experience from both my playthroughs. I dont forsee a problem (at least for me) replaying content when you can take different angles each time. Maybe I'll do a little more flirting and bribing at launch, who knows hehe. Or maybe I'll just blast every punk that flips me shit.
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
I hear ya OP,i played i think 7 classes,so i have seen a lot of story.I found today when playing ,i wanted to escape the story altogether,it was getting that boring. Now there is at times a stil lfun story, like i wish i could SHOCK my slave...ahem i mean Companion a few times a day w/o getting the minus affection lol.
I also found the Sith stories do not stick to Sith ways, they tend top get al lemotional and conspiracy theory the exact same as doing the Galactic ones. There was also TOO much military style voice acting.
TO be honest ,i think you SHOULD have played the last Beta at least once perhaps a player you wouldn't play come release,so you wouldn't ruin the story. The reason is i got many classes to 10 and thoguht the game was pretty good, but then i went back and got a few above 10 then realized the game was going ot be the same old for the duration of the game.Flashpoints being the only variance and that is if yo ulike doing instance runs,i don't.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I played other classes during this beta week-end, then the one I'll play at launch. So I'm not getting too spoiled.
It gives at least a good feeling of the game, how companions are, their crafting/gathering skills, light/dark side, and many more... It's just like an introduction.
It also showed me I need a new PC, or at least upgrade it. 2Gig memory on XP is not enough. Memory was over 2.5Gig with only swtor running, so I was lagging badly probably due to that. I got 4 crashes to desktop too, but maybe due to my lagging too.
