What I have noticed overtime is that the people hate the game or dislike it love talking about it and disliking it. I assume people who dislike olives go to their local olive factories and bash them out too. I must give credit to bioware for doing a good job at pretty much telling these people off.
Rather then ignore these people who complain or demand a full redone of the game they pretty much said go eff off this is how our game is made and this is how were doing it.
Thanks Bioware for not ruining the game like Blizzard did for casual wannabe hardcore players.

huh?
I must have missed them saying that..
I must have also missed it.
Post a credible link, please.
It's a general observation overtime at expo's and stuff. They kind have had a good bold this is what our game is and people who don't like that might not like it. My point is they been pretty good and bold at telling people hey don't like it don't play and rather like blizzard who says maybe maybe maybe they pretty upfront so far.
Does not mean they will not cross us later on but hey its a start!

If I were a huge fan of olives, I might spend time on boards about olives, including sharing my opinions on the brands and styles I consider to be bad. That's not the same as going to a factory to bash the employees who package them.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

If you were going to equate it to what happens here, you might bash the people who grew the olives you didn't like and you would most certainly bash the people who like the olive you didn't like.
They would be noob olive eaters...or perhaps they would be elitist snob olive eaters. I mean what kind of idiot demands that the pit remain in the olive...it just slows the process of eating the olive down and you can't have a clove of garlic inside the olive if you leave the olive pit in there. Masochistic jerks.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Wait, you understood what the OP said?
No they are not catering to the masses by making a WoW clone at all *sarcasm*. I will give them credit though, since I started following this game 3 years ago they said exactly what it would be. A WoW clone, they are catering to a group but have stuck to those guns and are not going to change anytime soon.

Bioware is already ruining the game. They got rid of cc and interrupt combo for mobs in questing. I wanted a challenge from questing for once and hoped this game would give it but the player community cried cuz they want to rush through the game and get to raiding and the other part are just lamers and want no challenge at all.
Money is the root of all evil.
No but people that visit the so called best restaurant in town and then find out that they dont like the food will bash it ruthlessly. And then there are also people that never visited that restaurant but will bash it anyway out of jealousy for another ones succes.
I think its a combination of these whats happening here. And the bashers will allways be the loudest.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Oh so you mean just some shit you made up to satisfy you own desires. Why didn't you just say so up front?

That may be true..
but when that restaurant is getting all these rave reviews and impressions that it doesnt live up to then......
I know this is going to sound crazy, because people are still assuming TOR will be a hit.. but I think in this case, it's the fans that are the vocal minority. I'm guessing that massive numbers of disappointed testers have just quietly moved on.
If I'm wrong, then I've become so out of touch, I should probably give up on trying to understand people entirely, and go live on a mountaintop somewhere.

After being in beta and watching some gameplay videos at twitch.tv I'm really ashamed on how people play this game. People rant about the conversations taking too long, then they don't bother to listen the quest dialogue or check out the journal on what to do in quests.
Yesterday some guy was writing a bug report in twitch.tv because he was just too dumb to use a console to open a door, or open the journal saying "hack the door". If that is too hard to do, then I'm really glad that these kind of people try the game, get disappointed and hop back into wow.
Sorry that is not innovative WoW Fanboi, that has been going on in MMORPGs for years and was perfected by SOE during the whole NGE debacle.

hmm..how can they ruin the game like Blizzard did ,when it hasn't even released yet?
I don't hate SWTOR at all,i think it is a decently good game.My problem is it is just too much of the same old,i like a developer to think a bit. It's class design is jus ta copy of so many other games and to be honest ,i do not like the TREE system one bit.
I could see a TREE system if you actually made each SMALL "very limited" choice meaningful, but 99% of the time ,they are quantity not quality choices that are capped at 2/2.
I think if anyone played the quest/story lines as much as i have ,they would see that it really is an over rated system.I have seen the story from almsot every class perspective and it gets severely redundant.
What a game comes down to is it's class and combat structure.SWTOR does a few cute things for class, but combat is still VERY generic, actually a step down from other games becuase it doesn't utilize combos or added effects.
So much of the game looked to be rushed for lack of effort.Crafting looks to be thrown together using a faster design and the lack of models confirms the rushed product.I know i can't be the only one to notice it,so i assume somewhere down the road Bioware is going to be questioned for such a lame effort on models.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Everyone who enjoys it is quiet because they are still playing the weekend beta, since it goes on till tomorrow night.
But I know a few good mountains, just in case.
Then you could just choose to eat somewhere else, as the restaurant was not to your taste (even though it was to the tastes of reviewers, etc) or you could choose to spend much time trying to get other people to not try it or eat there. And not just tell friends and family about not liking it, but going online to every food site and bashing it on threads by people who enjoy it, maybe belittling their opinion on what food they like or hijacking the thread. That's when things seem to be a bit overboard.
Sounds plausible and all, but after trying it for myself, I dunno. Have you played it? It's pretty bad.
edit: oh, and @the above poster, you should check out yelp.com - lots of restaurant reviews and discussion there, but it'd be pretty lame if people only talked about restaurants they liked.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
Maybe i just don't understand why people need to relentlessly press their negative views about things they don't like. I've been following these threads to decide if i want to try TOR or not (still on the fence), and some of the negative viewpoints have been helpfull as they give examples and don't bash but intelligently describe their experience (Many start a thread instead of going off topic on others threads). But for every one that just critiques it, there are many more that seem to just bash with emotion, instead of making good points, and it seems to be the same 20 people on every thread. Doesn't seem to add much to the conversation. As in the above restaurant analogy, vast majority of people who had a bad experience would just post something once and move on and probably forget about it as thy try new restaurants or eat at the ones they already like. Seems like with games it is personal and they spens waaay too much time on every related thread.
enjoy your mountain top.
Those who like a product are always the minority. That doesn't mean 1-2 million box sales is a bad thing though. That doesnt mean 200k is a bad thing.
Edit: It being bad is your opinion, I absolutely love it and so do others. Maybe you should hit that mountain top if you think for a split second your personal preferences are the global exception to good or bad.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
lol....this is an MMO site..
people are bound to give their opinions on MMO's,its gonna happen whether you like it or not..
and yes,I have chosen to 'go somewhere else',doesnt mean I cant give my opinion on it.Do I care if the next person loves the game so much that he buys 5 copies? nope...but its still not going to stop me from giving my opinion.
My favorite thing about explosions is when they explode.
lolololololol
That's like totally just your personal opinion!
