Hi, this is mostly for those of you who experienced any graphical glitches last weekend.
Just giving a quick update regarding the graphics after the release build patch that came out this week. I run a 5850 and these cards were giving funky glitches where there were occasional diagonal lines appearing on the screen. After the patch, everything runs smooth, no glitches, no random pixels. This was without making any changes to my video settings in game.
Also, on a side note, the east coast server where my characters were was full with a waiting list, so I instead started an IA on a west coast server. No change in ping. I don't know if this is just a fluke, but I got 120 ms ping to the east coast server last weekend, too. So come launch, if you are unable to log into an east coast server, try a west coast server and see what the connection is like. Might be worth it for some.
Not going to discuss the stuff that was already out there in the patch notes, suffice to say that I have yet to run into any "bug" like problems this build.

What about:
This is the extent of the graphical glitches I saw beyond the orange pixel of doom that hovered near the chat window. The orange pixel was pretty easy to ignore.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
They did fix the orange pixel, at least i'm not getting it anymore. I never noticed any of those problems in the cutscenes.
Overall performance seems to be better, but Taris still has serious problems.
Still no AA, unfortunately.
Thus far, no animation glitches like that either. I don't recall running into those last time. Do you remember a particular cut scene that I or someone else could test?
Regarding AA, apparently you can force it in the games .ini feature file if you can't force it in your Video Card console.
For those interested with NVIDIA GPUs might want to follow this thread http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=661597
For those with ATI cards, you can set in in the console without any downloads.
What?!?!? They removed the mighty Orange Pixel? that's it. I'm cancelling my preorder. The whole Sith storyline revolved around the Orange Pixel. Guess I will just have to go back to playing <insert typical trolls' game here>.

"Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Double Fine President Tim Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too."
During last week-ends stress-test, using just a 5770, with all settings maxed, I had no graphics problems of any kind, so any improvements since then can only be good.

The previous statement is true
hahahah, thats pretty good
Remember Old School Ultima Online
for me the camera "shakes" during CS after the patch, dunno if its me or the game tho
In case you don't know what they're talking about:
Any cut scene with a Twi'lek where you could see their head tentacles. Their tentacles would wiggle. The shadows were kind of all over the place. The flying clothes were in once cut scene only, where you are talking to the senator and her assistant walks back into the scene.
I'm running an ATI HD5770 card with 1gb of RAM. That might have been part of it - ATI occasionally gets some funky driver issues.

@Ikeda - LOL!

I just bought a raedon 6870 1gb HD gpu for this game.. Anyone know how this card is doing for SWTOR? Or how raedon/amd's are doing in general?
Currently Playing:
Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
Yea, people are talking on the forums about making the OPOD an orange mouse droid pet (only beta testers would even remotely find the joke funny). I about dropped my cup on my laptop... hilarious.
Spoke with quite a few Twi'leks and no wriggling head tentacles. Shadows appear noticably smoother this patch for me. Can you tell me which story line for the senator and her assistant?

It was the Jedi Consular story line in Coruscant. You're meeting the senator in the main atrium of the senate building, right as you walk in the front door. It's your follow up meeting with the senator and she sends the assistant away. When the assistant walks back, his waist belt or pants flutter up like butterfly wings. It was a one time thing though...it didn't happen repeatedly, just that once as he was walking back into frame.

As far as the ATI performance, early on in beta ATI cards were having horrendous issues regarding framerates and rendering. Updating their drivers to the latest version (.11 I think) solved those issues. With a 5850 I get 70+ fps on a regular basis.
I will say that people have pointed out that SWTOR is a far more CPU intensive game than GPU. There is an old thread over at alterswtor that discusses that: link
I would pick a high-res texture pack over fixing the orange pixel any day.
If I ever get to log back into the east coast server, I will try and do that cut scene this evening after I get off work. Playing imperial at the moment on a west coast server, but I have a JK at that level.
