Can you trade back server slots to global ones?

When I started, I started playing on Defiant, which is apparently the English speaking European server, though not labeled as such. For whatever reason though, it's pretty much deserted, and I would like to move my characters to another server where there are people.

I have two transfer tokens (1 from VIP, I have no idea where the second came from) and I have one global character slot I can open on the new server.

But I can then somehow close the slot I had vacated on Defiant, and turn it back into a global token so I can open another character slot on the new server?

I didn't think so, but one of the apparently 4 people besides myself on Defiant (or at least on now as I type) says it's possible, but couldn't elaborate how. I think he's wrong, but thought I would ask...

    No.

The only way I could see this happening is if you contacted NC Support and one of them felt generous enough to grant your request, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yeah, I scoured the official message boards - other people asked this and Paragon never replied, so I guess it's not gonna happen.

But dang, doesn't it defeat almost the whole purpose of a character transfer if the character slot doesn't go with it? It's another $5 for that (actually a little more, since they are $6 for 1, $10 for 2)

Spoiler: They're a business and they hunger for your money.

Statistically, if they can make more people pay compared to the number they piss off and drive away, it was a successful maneuver.

edit: NC (the publisher) doesn't really monitor the CoH boards, only some of the Paragon (the developer) staff, so you really just need to contact them if you want a proper response.
