With all English-language players in the European region now dumped onto one server, it's already taking strain, and the situation isn't going to be improved by an influx from the free server. Perhaps Sony should have thought of that before merging the servers.

the freeport server (free server) will still be around
anyone wanting to transfer off the free server will have to pay 24.50 per character
the vast majority of players will stay on Freeport
no reason to go elsewhere unless they have friends or want be on a server with better endgame progression.
Actually I think if it increases the population of the few remaining servers it's a very good move. SOE is at a point where they've got nothing to lose so they might as well get some bodies into the world.
Really out of all the current mmos I think this is the best one--the graphics engine is really its biggest flaw, not it's billing system.
Have to agree. The game needs a graphics pack but in truth SOE needs to step up its game on all its products. I go to thier site and it feels like I am in a digital version of Value Village or something.
I'm pretty sure EQ2x was really popular and profitable which caused the entire game to go in that direction. It was a live test of what has come to be.
