Not specifically because of anything that Blizz put into it but because it's a good hub for players to interact with each other again. Tons of players together at the same place...tons of talking/chatting and player interaction. Very refreshing
(by the way, plenty Tyreal's Chargers...lots of annual pass subscribers I was surprised to see so many)
It's worth checking out. You portal there from just outside of Goldshire for ally's (sorry, don't know where the horde go)

Would think its worth resubbing? Also, how well is the LFR working?
4.3 has enough changes that i think its worth resubbing for a looksee

I did a scroll of resurrection after 4.3 and have decided to resub.
LFR is working really well. Tried it last week. We downed all 4 bosses and only wiped once. The fights have mechanics you need to know, but they are not very difficult.
There are some people dropping from time to time, but it is easy to find replacement. In fact, usually it takes seconds to replace a person.
Also, there is no wait. MUCH faster queue (less than 2 min) than H dungeons.
This is the reason i come back.
Yeah, i have to agree, they have finally fulfilled the potential of the Darkmoon Faire. Some fun to be had with the little minigames or mini quests and the free-for-all PvP is a blast.
A great little distraction
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.
was curious, stopped right after this:
The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%.
Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests.
Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons.
The amount of stupid in those changes cannot be described with words.
Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt.
Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress.
Try me
The New Darkmoon Fraire is a blast indeed. Even got to max my inscription out with one of the crafting quests.
It's not stupid. Outland and Northrend are irrelevant now. The storylines don't tie in with cataclysm. It's a band-aid fix until they completely revamp both of the zones, and that's if they ever do it. The level cap keeps raising also. Do you really want people to stay in the zones longer than they should, especially when Mists of Pandaria comes out?
The bottom line is, that it's just a huge roadblock to 85 and cataclysm content.
Anyone else find it sad this is one of wow's major events right now? WoW has so much potential for epic world events, such as; invasions, world objectives like AQ, capital pvp events, etc.
Instead, they give us a carnival.
I stumbled on the darkmoon faire yesterday and I am here to tell you that I actually said " Holy crap this is neat ". But the shooting of the gun about made me barf . I re subbed to find something to do and am leveling quickly through all the main zones again .It is worth resubbing for a time killer.
I dont find it stupid, i find it funny. Funny and cute, like Pandas are. Its a sad kind of funny, like a bittersweet taste, a kind of fade out tune at the end of the movie, where you are left to wonder what happened at the end...
- How can part of a game lore be "irrelevant" now? Was relevant when i played it....what? The Lich King was a lie? Maybe a costume brawl weirdo, or a clown, because this game is left to be a circus. Allowing players to skip or lightspeed level through content that other players spent weeks to play is, as always and every since TBC expansion, stupid. And, 33%??? Damn...I know, i know, you dont mind....and thats why there are pandas now in the game....
- So they were group quests, but now they arent?? Well, is it at least the same game?? Maybe...hey i know, how about taking the end game raids from TBC and WotLK expansions and make then a solo quest? No need to push players to play that stuff...there is new content to play now. Screw the Lich King. Make a solo quest where you need to kill 10 pigs, make a pig bomb, kill the lich and hurry to panda land...
- Atention devs, or like i usually say "achtung baby", looking for a way to empty all the lands and cities on your game, and to put everyone at one spot, spanking that Q button to join whatever, just take a look at WoW!! I bet that if Blizz deleted Darnassus from the game servers it would take 2 weeks before any1 noticed....oh yeah, but it is irrelevant now!!
It was a great game, my best online experience, transformed into a stupidity feast, where kids, trolls alike, and die hard fans of the game, thrive to play every content blizz launches to do exactly but exactly the same thing over and over and over and over again. It is long dead, suffering from somekind of vampiric disease, where the corpse continues to breathe, where blood opens ways to money, but the hunger remains, feeding from little kids, delusional teens, and rooted vets.
I dont find it stupid, i find it funny that the best game i ever played is now a joke, and a bad one....and there are 10 million players in WoW only because Chuck Norris allows them to live!!! Kiiiiiiiiaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
As much as I am utterly sick of dailies (it's why I quit RIFT because their dynamic events were basically dailies galore), the Darkmoon Faire zone and experience is brilliantly done.
In fact, the same goes for the Firelands dailies. I just returned to the game and I am blown away by the quality of the dailies. Much, much, much better than the Argent Tourny, to give a comparison.
"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
I need to take this advice more.
Why is it stupid? The respective game worlds are utterly dead. If there is something that guarantees driving away players from a game, it is having to level solo in a dead world, never seeing a single other soul and /who yielding results such as Player X, level 275, distant zone light years away from you.
If we're going to discuss amounts of stupid anywhere, we shouldn't look any further than your post.
"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
I need to take this advice more.
The Firelands dailies do get old, especially when you get so many marks then you have to turn in all of them to unlock the next tear. Gain a bunch more, give them all away to unlock the next tier, rinse-repeat.
And now you can queue for a raid? If this game got any easier- you wouldn't even have to log on.
There is still heroic mode. Go do that, then come back to me and whine about difficulty.
Challenges are still there; players are too obstinate to go seek them.
"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
I need to take this advice more.
Doesn't surprise me in the least; I only have perspective of one day so my view is skewed.
Still, they're quite enjoyable; the zone is much better made than the Argent Tournement/Icecrown. Reminds me of IQD.
"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
I need to take this advice more.
Did you not comprehend what i wrote?
"The storylines don't tie in with cataclysm."
and
"The bottom line is, that it's just a huge roadblock to 85 and cataclysm content."
and then you wrote:
"Was relevant when i played it."
The story changed. It continued into cataclysm. If you level from 1-60 & 80-85, you get storylines relevant to Cataclysm and Deathwing. Then, when you get to Outland or Northrend, there isn't any mention to it, because you're actually going back in time, before Cataclysm.
It's a flawed design from Blizzard. You seem to have a problem with people speeding through this content for some reason. Content that is irrelevant to Cataclysm.
