Unplayable

the game is unplayable.  a treadmill.  blizz has missed the FUNDEMENTAL essence of modern marketing.  Variety.  There is not the BEST tomato sauce.  there are 7 best tomato sauces....extra chuncky, spicy, mushroom, extra garlicy, etc.  But with WoW, you get the same thing from every server.  There are two play styles.  Raiding, which is only about memorizing a plan and pushing a button.  Or pvp which is about collecting points in sterile little arenas.  THEY DESTROYED the worlds they created.

Imagine if a PvE server had roving bosses that appeared in Outlands or Elwynn or Sithius.  And that the best gear available came from these bosses.

Imagine if PvP servers had world pvp events.  Capture Gadgetzhan or secure north Stranglethorn.  And that the best gear available came from these events.

Imagine if RP servers had constant RP events that only through knowledge of lore, not the ablity to spam a button, gave rewards....the best gear available.

Imagine a level 60 server.

But this is fantasy because the "devs" are so in love with their content, YOU MUST PARTAKE IN IT.  You must be in a big guild too.

And the worst part...YOU MUST involve yourself with others.  {mod edit}

I never raid, let alone do heroic dungeons, but I Qed for heroics last night.  Haven't played in months.  Everythging is different, have no idea what rotation to use (which is disgusting that gameplay is broken down into a regimented set of actions repeated over and over----sounds like SCHOOL to me).  I got booted because my dps was weak.  I was booted because I didn't push the buttons they wanted me to push in the order they wanted me to push them.  THIS is the failure of WoW.

Wow was botringfrom the start. It was the most successful mmo because of the brand , andalso because of the simplicity of it.

The bit that starts you hating WOW with a vengence is when you keep hearing this message if you spam a button in a frenzy. " That ability isnt ready yet" !!!!

That is the most annoying thing ever about world of warcraft.

I had high hope though for world of warcraft initially because it was a mmo that looked like Rayamn, but unfortunately I never got why everyone wasso big on this game, possibly because id previously played SWG and also EQ2 which in my opinion were much better mmo games, even if the subs were lower. The fact is world of warcrafts subs are higher because more people like the simpler type of mmo, there is less people interested in hardcore mmo action.

This is what i was complaining about to my brother in law as he asked me to play WoW with him. Coming from healing and tanking in SWToR, i was bored hitting the same button over and over again. I was talking about having watched a video on youtube and seeing a mage do 23k dps. hitting 2 buttons. my 9 year old nephew has leveled his mage from 1 to 71 by himself,  mashing the same 2-3 buttons.

The best part, just before i clicked on this thread, there was another thread for SWToR asking if there were to many abilities. I had to laugh to myself. Apparently that person never once played any other MMO but WoW.

LOL @ someone who has no idea. Arcane mage does most damage with ONE spell but you have to understand and time CDs, understand mechanics and decide when to burn and when to converse mana.

Sure you can just smash buttons and put out some damage. To max dps, you have to know what you are doing. Read elitistjerks if you want to know how to do it properly.

Thank you for confirming my point that WoW is so simplified that ONE spell is all an arcane mage needs to dps in raids.

How long do you think before you'd be saying the same thing about your suggestions?

You just need to except that every game has a limit when it comes to new things you can do and just move on.

I am not going read anything.  Why would I ever have to read anything? I leveled my toon.  I know my spells and skills.  And define properly.  The way YOU want me to play or the way I want to play or the way an addon wants me to play or the way the devs DEMAND that i play?

    Who is paying my sub?

    Me.

A negative WoW post, born from miss-information and "I think".. how original.

I'll try to answer your points.

Variety: WoW has the biggest variety of most Themepark games. It has dungeons, Raids, Dailies, PvP divided in BGs, World regions and Arena, side activities, the Dark moon Faire, holiday events, fishing competitions, pets etc etc. Accusing of not having diversity need some substantial explaining, please feel free to do so.

    - PvE roving bosses: So what I do when the top guilds of the server put the bosses on farm? Do you know who had bosses like that? EQ had. And you had to do some really incredible cluncky SCHEDULING between guilds to have it happened. And if you were not in a guild? oh no.... nothing for you there, sorry.

Sure, this WILL happen if those bosses drop the best loot. Luckly, I think that is NOT needed to have them fun. WoW had world bosses before and MoP will seemingly re-introduce them somewhat... as long as they are not mandatory, all is good.

    - PvP Ok, so I have captured STV... and now the people of the opposite faction that had quests there what are they going to do?? Move away? Nooo they cannot help in the PvP, they are level 30.... against the masses of level 85 that just came down from the Sky. You need areas MADE for PvP in mind from the get go to not inconvenience too much people that are not interested in the PvP. Yes, I know that maybe you do not care about them, but Blizzard do. MoP is promising a return to World PvP, I do not think they will get it right, but one just has to hope.

    - RP: Some games tried to have events lead by GM. they were a utter failure most of the time. Oh no, not the EVENT itself, those are usually quite fun... for the 40-50 people that can attend. the others though.... too bad. Plus honestly? Argent Dawn is full of player run events. Let the Roleplayers do the Roleplaying I say and let the Devs give us some juicy Roleplaying tools. On that front, WoW is quite lacking... with partial redeeming factor in the Add-on functionality that permits things like GHI to exist, still more rp tools from the devs would be nice! :3

    - About Raiding and big Guilds. Flash news! this JUST IN!!!! patch 4.3 release with "Looking for Raid" functionality! You do not NEED to be in a big guild to raid any longer! (if you ever needed with all the PUG raiding happening before). EVERYONE can now see the top level raids!

    - "YOU MUST involve yourself with others" ????? Are you really complaining that you need to have social interactions in a MMO???

    - So you did not care to stay up to date and do not know how to play your class any longer. That's ok. Go quest for a while to get the hang of your class, hook up with a levelling guild, find someone to teach you if you must and try again!  you have a second and third and fourth and nth chance at this game!

You cannot expect to come back "cold" to the game and instantly be a master in it... many things might have changed in the time you were away, you need to train yourself back to top form. They kicked you out from the dungeon not because they hate you, but because they hate wiping at this boss for the nth time because someone is not pulling their weight, if that someone is you.. well, then it is better you re-learn how your class work.

I do not get your comment about the button pushing... all videogames works with you pushing buttons and all videogames have training curves where you get better at it the more you play it.... so... you are pissed because you did not know how to play? or because someone told you how to play? or what exactly?

Would you get pissed when you play Street Fighter II and you do not know how to do a damn Hadooken and someone tell you "it is like this and this!"?

This very forum is full of people that will tell you how WoW is such a simple game that their 10 years old kids can play it to the top. Are you telling me they are wrong?

Wow still have more subs than any other P2P game, and just because you and I are not found of it does not make it unplayable, not just our cup of tea.

Just because you don't like a game does not make it bad, that is like if a pop music fan say Mozart was a bad musician.

i healed the first flashpoint during beta of Swtor and all i did was spamm 1-2 healing button like crazy to heal group mates and myself... ive used more variety of skills in WoW than in Swtor itself, in terms of healing (of course at higher levels things will change), and somewhat 50-50 in terms of dps. So they are both ok to me. both are "couple buttons spammer" but i chose to play that way, not that was forced to it (in both games)

I am so sick of hearing about WoW...

Just move on, and stop complaining about WoW. We all know it sucks and nothings ever going to go back the way it was.  It's the same thing that happind with Starwars Galaxies... 8 years later and they are still going on about something that happind almost a decade ago.. A DECADE!..
