with bioware coming into the mmo market do you guys think its time for Rockstar to enter the ring?
with their record of great open worlds maybe its time for them to come in make a rockstar mmo ? and
how do ya think it would be done?
i mean how can they take their open world and turn it into a mmo?

Rockstar has explored the idea if their "hiring" sheet over the last 5 years tell anything. I have a feeling they're more interested in tapping into large scale multiplayer content as found in Red Dead Redemption (that's still fun) and GTAIV. It's also been hinte at in interviews they think the modular DLC pick and choose method for continued revenue is a preferred model over subscriptions.
So, I wouldn't be surprised with development of GTAIV's multiplayer and the persistent aspect that's showed up in RDR shows up in a MMO-like fashion in GTAV or another title we've not seen yet.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
That's one game I really wouldn't want to work on. Rockstar has a terrible record regarding how it treats its developers -- even before working on an even more massive project than their existing games.
I imagine an MMO might be the straw that breaks the camels' backs.

thats news to me how do they treat their devs?
If they did, they really need to scrap the Grand theft auto IP, they are turning into Sega and Nintendo using the same IP to drain money for decades, its old and stale and the fact that people keep buying them is just ludicris

Rockstar isn't one to take the PC market seriously.
Look how they treat the community.
Releasing GTA4 in a terrible state, waiting half a year to release LA. Noire and ignoring the communities pleas for a RDR PC version.
HOnestly I wouldn't support a Rockstar mmo even if they made one.
Playing: Nothing
Looking forward to: Nothing
they wouldnt have to scarp it depending on what IP they pick or if they start a band new one.
I would love to a Red Dead Redemption mmorpg. I'm not sure I'd want to see one that was pushed through on the same development schedule as something like L.A. Noire.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Well...
It doesn't matter how long it would take, it a business decision. Of whether or not the Millions spent would be worthwhile, to gain revenues back over the following years. But... if kids today are just going to buy the game & play for 6 months, then meander off to another kewl game...?
Then no, you'll never see the game.
Oddly, If kids today wouldn't be so impatient and actually didn't spend $5 of their Mom's money on every Free to Play game, then these Open World Dev's would be more confident in investing the considerable sums of money it takes to design an Open World game. But (again), with all these WoW'refugees navigating to Free To Play.. you only just keep seeing theese FTP inferior games. Or, until the WoW generation matures and grows into their own income.
Because the predominant ecomic force in the MMORPG industry are teenagers & young adults who rely on PARENTS.

Skyrim isn't an MMO and darkfall is hardly King of open worlds. Not even close.
GTA - the MMO, I like it.
Try re-reading the OP.
The OP was saying that Bioware is the king of open worlds. Which, he was saying they're not, that Skyrim is. And I tend to agree with him. TES has been great for YEARS when it comes to Open World games.
I wouldn't play another Rockstar game...ever.
